Requirements
  • 3-5 years practical payroll work experience required.
  • Must have recent public company experience with a similar size multi-state organization (500-1000 employees).
  • Hands on experience with ADP Workforce Now and NetSuite required.
  • Solid understanding of all federal/state wage and hour laws related to payroll including garnishments, benefits, leave of absence, 401k, FSA and taxes.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Experience with payroll accounting including journal entries and account reconciliation preferred.
  • Exposure to RSUs, Non-Qualified Stock Options and ISO’s.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to discreetly handle confidential information.
  • Ability to understand payroll issues, demonstrate resourcefulness and resolve problems and manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
  • Organizational skills: task prioritization and effective time management.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel (ability to perform pivots, V-lookups and other functions).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare the U.S. semi-monthly payroll for both exempt and nonexempt employees.
  • Prepare and process payroll to ensure accurate, timely processing of payroll in compliance with Company's policies and procedures and with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Prepare and process off cycle payroll as needed.
  • Perform audits prior to payroll transmission and resolve discrepancies found in reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Document and update the payroll procedures.
  • Support external financial audit.
  • Ad hoc requests related to payroll reporting from accounting, stock plan administration, HR, and other functional groups.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in laws and regulations that impact payroll.
  • Special project participation (i.e. Audits and Quarterly Government Reports).
