Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team or developing product or operational processes
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of owning ambiguous problems and building structure from scratch; you don't wait for a fully scoped task or a playbook
  • Strong cross-functional coordination skills; you're comfortable herding engineers, operators and external partners toward a shared goal
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving, high-ambiguity environments where priorities shift all the time
  • Strong organization and follow-through across many parallel threads
  • Ability to leverage AI to enhance productivity
  • A level of hardcore-ness while still treating people like people
Responsibilities
  • Own new operational initiatives end to end, taking a vague problem statement to a working, documented, hand-off-ready function
  • Hunt down friction across the Data team by finding where things are breaking or slowing down, diagnosing the root cause and shipping the fix
  • Align stakeholders across teams, staying on top of dependencies and clearing blockers as they come up
  • Build the operating system for each function you own: SOPs, workflows, tooling and the metrics that tell us whether it's healthy
  • Pull, analyze and sanity-check operational data to make decisions and flag issues before they become fires
  • Take on the operational miscellany that keeps the Data team running smoothly
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in strategic projects, chief-of-staff, investment banking or program management roles
  • Strong data analysis skills; comfortable pulling, cleaning, and interpreting data and building operational reporting from scratch
  • Exposure to robotics, embodied AI, or real-world data collection environments

Sunday Robotics builds Memo, an autonomous home robot that performs chores like washing dishes, laundry, and tidying up. Memo uses a wheeled base, a soft silicone shell, and a telescoping arm to reach from floor to high shelves, and it learns from humans via ACT-1, a foundation model trained on a large real-world dataset collected with the Skill Capture Glove. This in-the-wild data approach lets Memo imitate human actions in real homes and handle unpredictable environments. The company aims to make home robots affordable for many households and plans to deploy through a Founding Family Beta program rather than rely on demos, seeking broad adoption.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Target retail price under $10K positions Memo as a consumer appliance, not a luxury item.
  • Founding Family Beta will deploy 50 units in late 2026 to generate closed-loop operational data.
  • 10M+ real-world routine dataset enables ACT-1 to generalize across unpredictable home environments.

What critics are saying

  • $20K/unit build cost vs <$10K price creates fatal unit economics gap risking valuation collapse in 6–12 months.
  • Tesla Optimus and Figure AI target same niche with superior scale, threatening beta adoption in 12–18 months.
  • Wheeled base design is less versatile than bipedal humanoids for multi-level homes, risking obsolescence by 2027.

What makes Sunday Robotics unique

  • Sunday uses a proprietary Skill Capture Glove to collect 10M real household routines from 500+ homes.
  • Memo features a wheeled base and soft silicone shell for passive stability and safety around children.
  • ACT-1 foundation model is trained entirely on zero robot data, bootstrapping intelligence from human demonstrations.
