Requirements
  • Hold official extended-role (RE) training recognized for practice in northern or isolated settings.
  • Be fluent in French and English to provide interventions to clients.
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ).
  • Have current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training.
  • Have valid tuberculin skin test (TST) and N95 mask-fit test results from within the past two years.
Responsibilities
  • Independently assess patients clinically, make nursing diagnoses, and manage dispensary users according to current extended-role protocols.
  • Provide routine, preventive, and emergency health care to the local population.
  • Provide remote medical on-call coverage and respond to life-threatening emergencies 24/7 during availability periods.
  • Collaborate interdisciplinarily with pivot physicians and emergency-support teams through telemedicine.
