Requirements
  • A minimum of ten years of related experience is required.
  • Extensive experience with military and commercial networks is required.
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco routers and switches, including Cat8K, is required.
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP internetworking, including configuring switches and routers, is required; a minimum of CCNA and Security+ certification is required.
  • Working knowledge of the Linux operating system is required.
  • Experience installing and configuring the VMware ESXi hypervisor is required.
  • Experience configuring Palo Alto firewalls is required.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS networking and configuration, Cisco ASA, BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, multicast, and designing and implementing LANs and VLANs is required.
  • Experience with network protocol analysis using Sniffer, Wireshark, or a similar tool is required.
  • Knowledge of configuring cryptographic equipment such as TACLANEs is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with Army acquisition personnel, test officers, task and functional leads, and senior engineers are required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or an equivalent IT-related field is required.
  • An active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI is required.
  • The candidate must meet physical and medical requirements applicable to the position.
Responsibilities
  • Configure and utilize network appliances and mission systems in laboratory and field environments to link sensors and electronic warfare systems with control stations, operations centers, command posts, and other live Army and agency networks.
  • Investigate and characterize novel methods for implementing a communications Primary, Alternative, Contingency, and Emergency plan to interconnect network elements and sensors in tactical environments.
  • Investigate and characterize automation methods for the PACE plan, such as Seeker or bandwidth virtualization, in laboratory and field environments.
  • Provide expert networking consultation to government staff, including product managers and chief engineers in the Electronic Warfare and Cyber field.
  • Support meetings, technical interchanges, and soldier touchpoints.
  • Support field testing as required and directed by the government task lead, including testing at local and other remote locations in the United States and abroad.
  • Take initiative and complete assigned tasks with limited supervision.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Ansible using YAML for automating provisioning of network devices.
  • Subject matter expertise with Voice over Internet Protocol, Cisco Call Manager, Call Manager Express, and Redcom Sigma Core.
  • Some knowledge of mission systems such as NGC2, Nett Warrior, JBC-P, BFT, and AFATDS.
  • Military experience or prior service.
  • An advanced degree or additional certifications.
  • Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
