Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks is required.
- Five to ten years of experience is required.
- Experience with electronic or electrical assemblies is required.
- Experience with Product Data Management systems is required.
- Experience with sheet metal, machined parts, and enclosure design is required.
- Ability to obtain a United States Government security clearance is required.
- United States citizenship is required.
- Government contracting experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use computer-aided design systems, specifically SolidWorks, for all mechanical design and development.
- Maintain engineering documentation for new designs, modifications, and developments, including drawings, part lists, and revision history, and distribute change numbers to applicable departments.
- Assist with prototype builds and develop build documentation.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain quotes and lead times and order parts for prototype and production builds.
- Assist in creating and maintaining customer-specific project documentation and standard system documentation.
- Coordinate with the Mechanical Design and Product Design teams to ensure assigned products meet all product requirements.
- Alert the Product Design team when issues are found with requirements.
- Perform ongoing mechanical assistance work as needed, including three-dimensional printing and office building layouts.
