About the company

Oasis Center helps young people stay safe, feel valued, and grow through programs that connect them with caring adults and peers. It runs activities and services centered on four key areas: Safety, Significance and Belonging, Participation and Empowerment, and Generosity and Justice. Programs are designed so youth experience emotional and physical security, build meaningful community ties, take action to improve their lives, and work for others’ wellbeing. Success is measured by gains in these four areas across all activities. The center differentiates itself by adopting a holistic, four‑pillar framework that emphasizes youth leadership, real decision‑making, and community justice, rather than only offering isolated services. The goal is to ensure every young person they serve leaves with safety, connections, leadership experience, and a stronger sense of purpose, prepared for productive and fulfilling lives.

What believers are saying

  • Oasis Center’s 2026 site highlights active camps, outreach events, and intern programs.
  • Federal Runaway and Homeless Youth grants run through 2028, supporting near-term operating visibility.
  • Community partnerships with United Way, Metro Nashville, and foundations diversify funding beyond federal sources.

What critics are saying

  • Government grants supplied over half of 2025 revenue, exposing Oasis to renewal shocks.
  • 2024-2025 revenue of $7.2 million relied heavily on grants and fundraising, not earned income.
  • A missed FYSB or HUD renewal in 2026 would immediately squeeze housing and crisis services.

What makes Oasis Center unique

  • Nashville’s Oasis Center holds recurring federal youth-services grants through 2028.
  • Its 24/7 crisis services and housing programs span shelter, diversion, and rapid rehousing.
  • The organization is embedded with Metro Nashville, schools, courts, and federal youth systems.
