Requirements
  • 15+ years designing and securing enterprise and/or service provider networks in a solutions architecture, network architecture, security architecture, or senior customer-facing engineering capacity.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of routing and switching, IP transport, network segmentation, firewall and access control design, VPN and network-layer encryption, and Zero Trust principles applied to real infrastructure.
  • Multi-vendor experience with platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Nokia.
  • Working knowledge of applied cryptography in networks, including TLS, IPsec, MACsec, public key infrastructure and certificate lifecycle, key management, and practical algorithm and key-material changes.
  • Ability to lead customer workshops, conduct architecture discussions with engineers, and discuss risk, cost, and sequencing credibly with CISOs or senior infrastructure leaders.
  • Grounding in post-quantum cryptography, crypto-agility, quantum key distribution, and the migration challenges facing existing networks.
  • Strong written communication skills for producing architectures, migration plans, and design guidance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, primarily within the United States, with incidental international travel.
Responsibilities
  • Design quantum-safe target architectures and migration paths for customer networks spanning WAN and transport, data center and campus, segmentation and access control, key management, and network cryptography.
  • Lead technical discovery and architecture workshops with network, security, and infrastructure teams; assess current-state cryptography and develop executable migration plans.
  • Own the technical thread in complex pursuits, including architecture proposals, RFI/RFP responses, security and compliance questions, competitive positioning, and objection handling in partnership with Sales.
  • Design and run proofs of concept, interoperability tests, and pilots, including post-quantum cryptography and hybrid key exchange in production-representative network environments and, where relevant, quantum-key-distribution-integrated links.
  • Translate field learning into reusable reference architectures, migration playbooks, interoperability matrices, and design guides.
  • Represent customer needs in the product process by bringing architectural constraints, integration gaps, and roadmap requirements to Product and Engineering.
  • Track standards and the threat landscape, contribute to standards work, and keep architectures and guidance current with NIST post-quantum cryptography guidance, IETF protocol work, and applicable mandates.
  • Partner with Marketing, Corporate Communications, and go-to-market teams to build IonQ's technical presence through talks, papers, blogs, standards bodies, and industry events.
  • Raise the technical bar through architecture reviews, mentoring, and reusable design patterns.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with post-quantum cryptography migration, including cryptographic discovery and inventory, crypto-agility architecture, hybrid key exchange, or post-quantum cryptography deployment in a network or public key infrastructure context.
  • Hands-on exposure to quantum key distribution or quantum networking, including testbeds, carrier or research trials, key-delivery interfaces to encryptors, or optical and transport-layer integration.
  • Experience at a network or security vendor, service provider, hyperscaler, or large enterprise network or security team with accountability for architecture decisions at scale.
  • Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001, FISMA, FedRAMP, or sector-specific regulations.
  • Public-sector, defense, financial-services, or telecommunications experience involving high-assurance environments and long data-confidentiality horizons.
  • Contributions to standards or the technical community, including IETF, ETSI, national post-quantum cryptography migration working groups, published writing, or conference talks.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCIE/JNCIE, CCNP Security, or equivalent.
  • Comfort with automation and tooling, including Python, configuration-as-code, and network telemetry, sufficient to build a demo or analysis independently.

IonQ CEO says quantum computers could crack Bitcoin encryption by 2028 — yet Strategy just bought $370M more

IonQ CEO Niccolo de Masi said a 2,000-qubit quantum computer could break Bitcoin's elliptic-curve encryption in under 26 days. IonQ and Congruity360 sign $8.18M quantum-security agreement to protect US enterprise data

IonQ and Congruity360 have announced an $8.18 million agreement to enhance quantum-safe data protection, marking one of the largest commercial quantum security deals in the United States. Under the partnership, Congruity360 will integrate IonQ's quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography appliances into its enterprise data management platform. The collaboration responds to a June 2026 White House executive order that moved federal post-quantum security deadlines forward to 2030 and extended requirements to contractors. IonQ will provide its Clavis QKD pairs and Solteris Network Appliances to protect sensitive data for Congruity360's clients across finance, healthcare, insurance, legal services, manufacturing, defence, and higher education sectors. IonQ unveils Superion 256 quantum computer, scales to millions of qubits with 300x cost reduction

IonQ has launched its sixth-generation quantum computing platform, Superion 256, marking a shift toward scalable, manufacturable quantum systems. SkyWater generated $317.1 million in revenue through the first half of 2026. Management is guiding for full-year revenue of $280 million to $290 million. Combined with SkyWater's projected $600 million, IonQ could reach approximately $900 million in total revenue this year. However, IonQ reported a $254.7 million operating loss through six months of 2026. The company's share count is increasing significantly, with approximately 24 million new shares added from the SkyWater acquisition and $450 million in stock-based compensation over the past year.
