Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • At least 6 years of experience as a Software or Solution Architect, focused on application development and scaling production solutions, is required.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on Google Cloud experience, including at least two end-to-end enterprise implementations in production, is required.
  • At least 4 years of experience designing and implementing Google Cloud networks, security controls, and landing zones using Terraform is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience building and operating containerized workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine, including autoscaling, ingress, and monitoring or observability, is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience implementing continuous integration, continuous delivery, and DevSecOps with Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience executing migration or modernization programs to Google Cloud, including rehosting, replatforming, or refactoring, is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience applying artificial intelligence or generative artificial intelligence on Google Cloud with Vertex AI and Gemini, including at least 1 year of production deployment, is required.
  • Deep understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, including experience with large language models and their enterprise applications, is required.
  • Experience implementing multiple artificial intelligence solutions in a professional, real-world environment is required.
  • Strong understanding of security implications related to artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, including data privacy, model poisoning, and adversarial attacks, is required.
  • Familiarity with hyperscaler tools and services is required.
  • A hyperscaler architect certification is required, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% based on client and industry needs is required.

Responsibilities
  • Architect and deliver enterprise artificial intelligence platforms and applications on Google Cloud using Vertex AI and Gemini, optimizing for scalability, reliability, security, and cost.
  • Design, fine-tune, evaluate, and govern large language model solutions with Gemini on Vertex AI, including prompt and tool or function calling, safety policies, Vector Search, evaluation, deployment, inference optimization, and monitoring.
  • Build retrieval-augmented generation and agentic solutions using Vertex AI Vector Search and BigQuery vector, implementing context management, retrieval strategies, and observability.
  • Define end-to-end architectures across data pipelines, feature engineering, model lifecycle, application programming interfaces or microservices, continuous integration and delivery, machine learning operations, and large language model operations using Vertex AI Pipelines and Cloud Build.
  • Lead cloud-native development on Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud SQL or Spanner, Memorystore, and Terraform, enforcing application and agentic design patterns.
  • Implement security and governance for artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, addressing data privacy, model poisoning, and adversarial attacks, and applying Gemini safety features and enterprise guardrails.
  • Design and develop enterprise-grade artificial intelligence applications and platforms for production-scale deployment.
  • Define technical architecture, select appropriate technologies, and ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and secure.
  • Integrate and fine-tune large language models and other artificial intelligence or machine learning models into enterprise applications.
  • Develop and implement strategies for model deployment, inference, and monitoring focused on production performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects to align artificial intelligence solutions with broader technical strategy, governance, and standards.
  • Design and deploy cloud-native applications on a hyperscaler platform using containers, Kubernetes, serverless functions, managed databases, and generative artificial intelligence tools.
  • Apply and enforce application design patterns and agentic design patterns to build resilient and maintainable software systems.
Desired Qualifications
  • Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer certification or an equivalent machine learning certification.
  • A master's degree in a technology-related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading high-performance, results-driven engineering teams delivering artificial intelligence platforms or applications.
  • At least 1 year of experience implementing large language model operations or machine learning operations using Vertex AI Pipelines and Cloud Build or similar tools.

AI forces companies to rethink hiring practices as job applications surge and entry-level pipelines shrink

Business Insider convened 15 HR and C-suite leaders in Davos to discuss how AI is reshaping hiring and talent pipelines. The roundtable, presented by Indeed, revealed growing concerns about entry-level positions and skills assessment. Deloitte's Elizabeth Faber emphasised maintaining a "human-led, technology-powered" approach whilst carefully navigating reduced junior hiring. TCW's Melissa Stolfi noted her firm has downsized its analyst class but maintains a pyramid structure to preserve apprenticeship culture and future leadership pipelines. Indeed's chief economist Svenja Gudell warned that whilst tech employers now demand five-plus years' experience, this creates future talent shortages if junior hiring continues declining. Salesforce's Nathalie Scardino said her company receives two million applications annually and has shifted focus from years of experience to learning aptitude. Manpower Group's Becky Frankiewicz noted AI can process candidates faster whilst reducing bias, potentially unlocking opportunities beyond traditional qualifications.

Deloitte to hire 50,000 employees in India, eyes Mangaluru expansion

Deloitte plans to hire 50,000 employees in India and is evaluating Mangaluru, Karnataka, as a potential new location, according to South Asia CEO Romal Shetty. The company currently employs 140,000 people in India, representing one in four Deloitte employees globally. Shetty said India hosts 50% of all global capability centres worldwide, with significant growth potential in Tier II and Tier III cities. He proposed creating digital economic zones integrating GCCs, GPU-based data centres, startups and academic institutions to accelerate expansion. The CEO called for streamlining GCC setup processes from six months to two weeks, whilst acknowledging infrastructure constraints around energy and water for data centres. Shetty noted Mangaluru offers advantages including talent availability and real estate, adding the company's presence there is a matter of timing.
