Requirements
  • A master's degree in social work with clinical experience in the program, or a master's degree in psychology, sociology, or another relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement, or a bachelor's degree plus five years of clinical employment experience.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training, or five years of clinical employment experience accompanying a bachelor's degree.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrate skills in group, individual, and family therapy and a range of treatment modalities.
  • Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Work collaboratively with staff members, service providers, and professionals.
  • Provide crisis intervention according to Compass Connections training when needed to maintain a safe environment.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining emotional control and professional composure.
  • Maintain computer literacy required to meet the position's responsibilities.
  • Work effectively without intensive supervision, independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Compass Connections policies and procedures.
  • Receive an annual influenza vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption.
Responsibilities
  • Meet all applicable federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain a caseload according to agency policies, licensing requirements, and contract standards.
  • Conduct intake interviews and initial child assessments.
  • Participate in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children.
  • Develop, implement, and update child therapeutic plans.
  • Provide counseling, crisis management, evaluations, and other assigned clinical functions.
  • Record relevant clinical data and report clinical information as required.
  • Maintain accurate and current child records and files.
  • Provide data to support staff regarding child admissions and discharges.
  • Facilitate continuity of services for children through the clinical department.
  • Meet predetermined deadlines for timely processing and reunification of unaccompanied children.
  • Assist with discharge planning.
  • Maintain an on-call schedule to support children and staff.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources.
  • Communicate with referral sources and providers.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions, and team operations.
  • Prepare and maintain assigned reports according to agency policies, procedures, licensing requirements, and contract standards.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by the position supervisor.
  • Implement safety protocols, including evacuating with children and staff during emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards of conduct, including complying with the required dress code.
  • Prepare goal-oriented psychosocial diagnostic assessments, service plans, and progress reports.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate at least two children's groups weekly on specified topics and issues.
  • Provide case consultations, weekly one-to-one counseling and/or crisis intervention for children, and biweekly family counseling for each represented family.
  • Meet deadlines required by the program supervisor and federal partners.
  • Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents in foster care programs.
