Requirements
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a Hotel Group Sales Manager position is required, with a proven successful track record of closing sales, effectively negotiating high-volume financial contracts, and consistently achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Previous experience selling passionate people, authentic experiences, and distinctively different service to others in a team-oriented environment is required.
  • The applicant must communicate effectively in English, both verbally and through written communication.
  • The applicant must have strong listening skills and attention to detail.
  • The applicant must be organized and able to create, implement, and analyze manual and automated reports.
  • The applicant must have comprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial applications of property management systems, Delphi, and appropriate personal computer applications.
  • The applicant must understand hotel operations and administrative requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and create new contacts and develop sales leads through phone solicitation and prospecting, sales calls, trade shows, and related activities; some travel is required.
  • Respond to sales inquiries and contact potential clients to build and nurture lasting business relationships.
  • Understand the overall market, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply, and demand, and strategically sell against the competition.
  • Differentiate the hotel from the competition and create customer loyalty.
  • Understand hotel amenities, venues, and options and provide recommendations to create authentic and distinctively different group experiences.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly.
  • Create, execute, and support the operational aspects of booked business, including generating proposals, writing contracts, and preparing customer correspondence.
  • Produce quotes and written confirmations for all clients.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records of appointments, calls made, and business leads.
  • Foster positive and productive relationships with team members, particularly across the Sales, Marketing, and Events teams, the Executive Committee, and hotel leadership.
  • Walk, stand, and sit for 6–8 hours per day; occasionally climb and use balance; frequently reach, carry, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Work in conditions involving temperature fluctuations, including rain, wind, heat, and humidity, and moderate to high noise levels.
