Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required; experience using an electronic medical record or other integrated software system is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and documentation.
  • Ability to speak effectively to the public in person or by telephone.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English language ability.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in cross-cultural settings.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to perform prolonged periods in front of a computer and prolonged or extensive standing and walking.
  • Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to drive a 30-foot mobile health unit while following all protocols.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
  • U.S. work authorization must be verified under federal law.
Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and provide customer service in a fast-paced setting.
  • Maintain accurate data in the electronic health record while maintaining patient privacy and security in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
  • Help maintain the mobile health unit at community events.
  • Fully operate the mobile health unit.
  • Use the electronic medical record in patient care.
  • Use multiple resources for staff communication.
  • Administer vaccines and other injections.
  • Administer laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Complete patient care tasks such as blood draws.
  • Complete certain telephone encounters.
  • Communicate with patients.
  • Drive the mobile health unit to and from community events and complete required setup and teardown according to mobile health unit protocols.
  • Perform other assigned duties that support the organization's work.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using an electronic medical record or other integrated software system.
