Salesforce has announced the Enterprise AI Harness foundation, a new set of capabilities with a unified interface. The features are scheduled to roll out sequentially starting in early fiscal 2028. Details on pricing, packaging, regional availability and upgrade paths will be provided nearer to general availability. The move follows similar centralized AI oversight tools from competitors, including ServiceNow's AI Control Tower. ServiceNow and Microsoft have also announced plans to unify governance across their respective platforms, intensifying competition in enterprise AI management tools.
Salesforce has become the title sponsor and technology partner of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in a multiyear agreement. The partnership will power FIDE's operations, player rankings, and fan engagement through Salesforce's Agentforce 360 portfolio, including Slack. The collaboration covers the 2026 and 2028 World Championship Matches, the 2027 Women's Match, and world rankings. FIDE, which oversees 204 national federations and 1.5 million rated players, will run its entire operation on Salesforce's platform. Key implementations include a Chess Concierge Agent for fan queries, an ELO Player Rating Agent for conversational player lookups, and near-real-time rating updates across federations. The system will serve over 800 million chess fans globally and process data from 60,000-plus annual events.
Microsoft has launched Dynamics 365 Activate, an AI-powered tool designed to help businesses migrate from Salesforce and other CRM and ERP systems to its Dynamics 365 platform. Currently available as a public preview for Salesforce conversions, the tool analyses existing implementations, identifies data relationships and dependencies, and creates migration blueprints. The software aims to reduce manual effort and migration risks whilst helping Microsoft's partners assess customer environments more quickly. Additional CRM and ERP migration scenarios will launch later this year. The timing is notable as Salesforce faces challenges with its own AI platform, Agentforce, which has reportedly struggled to gain user enthusiasm. Microsoft's Productivity and Business Processes unit, which includes Dynamics, generated $140 billion in revenue in FY 26, up 15 per cent year-over-year.
F5 and Salesforce announced an integration on 2 September, embedding F5 AI Guardrails into MuleSoft's Agent Fabric Omni Gateway. The partnership aims to address security risks in agentic AI deployments, including prompt injection and data leakage. F5 reported Q3 FY26 revenue of $865 million, up 11% year-over-year, with non-GAAP operating margin at 35.0%. Salesforce posted Q2 FY27 revenue of $11.3 billion, also up 11%, with non-GAAP operating margin of 34.1%. Salesforce raised full-year FY27 revenue guidance to $46.1 billion–$46.4 billion. Both companies operate at similar profitability levels. Salesforce leads in scale with $33.5 billion in cRPO backlog, whilst F5 benefits from specialised AI security positioning. Agentforce ARR grew 210% year-over-year, nearing $3.9 billion.
Salesforce shares fell approximately 4% on Tuesday after the launch of GPT-6 Astra sparked concerns that general-purpose AI could replace specialised software functions. The stock recovered on Wednesday, trading nearly flat at $248.84. The company reported quarterly revenue of $11.3 billion and current remaining performance obligations of $33.5 billion. Agentforce annual recurring revenue exceeded $1.5 billion, more than tripling year over year, though it represents only 3.2% of Salesforce's $46.25 billion full-year revenue guidance midpoint. Contracted obligations equal roughly 72% of annual guidance, providing near-term stability. However, analysts warn contracts cannot permanently protect seat growth or pricing if independent AI agents become viable substitutes. Salesforce currently trades 26.97% below its estimated fair value of $340.76.
