Requirements
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in this state.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to read technical procedures and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
  • Must be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents served.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to supervise other personnel.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for quality care.
  • Must possess a current CPR certification.
  • Must maintain required continuing education and licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Must meet the facility’s general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to move, push, pull, carry, or lift at least 25 pounds and assist with resident evacuation during emergencies.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Direct assigned nursing assistants and ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, and applicable regulations.
  • Plan shift services and activities, develop work assignments, provide leadership, and make daily rounds to monitor nursing personnel.
  • Participate in performance evaluations, determine staffing requirements, and make staffing and personnel recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete associated forms, reports, census records, and documentation.
  • Maintain resident charts and records, transcribe physician orders, record telephone orders, and document nursing care and resident responses.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments, verify resident identity, maintain medication supplies, and reconcile narcotic records.
  • Review resident charts, treatment plans, medication orders, diets, and care plans, and coordinate care with physicians and other services.
  • Provide and oversee nursing procedures including catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, specimen collection, vital signs, and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Monitor residents’ physical and emotional status, seriously ill residents, prescribed treatments, accidents, incidents, and changes in condition.
  • Implement restorative and rehabilitative programs and ensure care is provided according to resident care plans and wishes.
  • Participate in quality assurance, facility surveys, infection control, safety, sanitation, disaster preparedness, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training, orient new employees, assist with clinical supervision of nurse aide trainees, and participate in continuing education.
  • Maintain adequate medication, medical supply, equipment, personal protective equipment, and safety material inventories.
  • Review and revise care plans and assist with the Minimum Data Set assessment process, including Resident Assessment Protocols and Triggers.
  • Report suspected fraud, hazardous conditions, occupational exposures, security violations, and other incidents according to facility procedures.
  • Communicate with residents, families, physicians, government agencies, facility departments, and support personnel regarding resident care and facility operations.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
