Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Wentzville, Missouri Assembly Center on a full-time basis.
The Role:
This position is the single point “voice of the customer” supporting the Propulsion System Chief Engineer and Program Manager to assure segment leadership in J.D. Power / Warranty IPTV and Cost reduction initiatives. This position also represents propulsion systems with the vehicle platform program quality leadership and program teams.

What You’ll Do:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and creating quality solutions for medium level changes. Defect analysis resolution and verification for vehicle subsystem quality, and performs design reviews.
Planning and Vision
Planning and prioritization of Daily Activities
Support the QE CAP Goals and BPD Targets
Optimize Time to ensure coverage of QE Responsibilities and Production Floor Support
Safety
Follow and Reinforce all Site Safety Guidelines
Maintain Safe and Professional Work Spaces per Site Workplace Organization Standards
Participate in Safety Observation Tours as Needed
Urgently resolve *S Safety and Ergonomic Issues
People
Develop Quality related skills, Red X certification, GMS compliance, Built In Quality skills assessment completion, and professional society certifications
Support a cross-training plan for Quality Engineers to meet plant, Quality, SQ objectives
Complete Suggestion Plan Requirements and complete analysis of incoming Suggestions
Lead and coach Red X problem solving methodologies for team members, suppliers, and manufacturing team members
Maintain and utilize Career Development Planning tools to promote career development
Quality
Develop and Maintain Product Quality Standards for assigned commodities
Develop and Implement a Standardized Work Task List
Champion assigned commodity Voice Of Customer issues
Participate in the Change Management Process
Issue and maintain Supplier Practical Problem Solving items for identified Supplier Quality issues
Communicate Emerging Issues Summary for Responsible Components
Support Supplier Quality Yard Sweeps and develop inspection method and standards
Coordinate Repair, Rework and Containment Activities for Identified Spills
Participate in High Risk Supplier Phone Calls
Provide response to all commodity SAC and manufacturing floor issues
Validate Supplier Scrap Disposition (Supports when required or at High Cost Levels SAC cover on daily basis)
Request Temporary Work Orders from Engineers as required to support Assembly
Ensure Appropriate Identification of KPC’s and KCC’s
Creates PDF’s and gains approval to PRTS’ though the CPIT Process
Voice of manufacturing in CPIT process
Diamond 4 through 7 Problem Solving for All VOC Metrics through RC and ICA
Viewed by other Resources Teams and Suppliers as Problem Solver Support Resource
Participates in ISO Audits
Support the PTR Process, documenting Product concerns and providing Pass/Fail feedback. Material/Prod Control Facilitate, QE ME and PCC jointly support PTR activity
Supports Controlled Shipping Activity
Facilitates all Supplier Representatives and Supplier Visits to Manufacturing Facility
Communicate Lessons Learned to SMT’s and Validation Teams
Develop Action Plans to meet established VOC, GCA, and DRR Targets for Assigned Components and Systems
Support Launch activities for all future programs beginning at the first Manufacturing Build
Liaison between engineering, supplier, and manufacturing to ensure quality and reliability
Identifies and continually improves on processes and procedures
Voice of the customer within manufacturing process
Responsiveness
Assure attendance of commodity issues at respective Care, GCA, 5F, and other Quality Reviews (support as required)
Attend Appropriate Area Countermeasures Meetings
Support DRR/DRL Initiatives
Assigned PRTS Issues to be through Root Cause and ICA to Published Targets
Attend standard Quality Engineering meetings
Support timely resolution of supplier and engineering related plant floor Ergonomics and Quality issues
Cost
Ensure effective management of Salary Attendance/Vacation/Overtime tracking systems
Drive assigned Warranty Reduction Initiatives
Document and resolve Cost Recovery associated with Supplier Quality issues through eSAP system

Your Skills & Abilities (Qualifications):
Four-year bachelors degree
1+ Years Manufacturing experience
Highly developed oral and written communications skills
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
Knowledge of manufacturing processes

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Degree in engineering or technical discipline
2+ Years Manufacturing experience
2+ Years Product Engineering experience
Team Management experience
Red X Technical Problem Solving Journeyman or higher certification
Body Dimensional, GD&T, and Part Data Analysis capability
