Nearly $1 million worth of PSA-graded trading cards stolen in FedEx heist.

Nearly $1 million worth of PSA-graded trading cards stolen in FedEx heist. New details have emerged about the stolen cards and it sure looks like it was targeted. on October 20, 2026 New details about the PSA-graded trading card theft reveal more about the nature of the heist. Credit: Martin LELIEVRE / AFP via Getty Images On Monday, Mashable reported on the burglary of a FedEx truck carrying packages of valuable trading cards, which had recently left a Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) facility in Southern California. PSA is a leader in grading valuable trading cards. New details have since emerged about the theft, which indicate that this was a more sophisticated, targeted heist. Plus Two Operations Ltd also now know just how valuable some of the stolen Pokémon and sports cards were. According to a new report from the New York Times and The Athletic, the FedEx truck was parked outside of PSA's headquarters in Santa Ana, California on Oct. 13. The Santa Ana Police told The Athletic that the FedEx truck was left unattended for as long as 90 minutes. During that window of time, the truck's locks were broken, and three pallets of recently graded cards being sent back to their owners were stolen by the thieves, the police told the outlet. According to the report, two pallets held around 100 packages each, and a third contained roughly 50 packages. You May Also Like PSA told police that two of the pallets were valued at around $963,000, The Athletic reported. The company is reportedly still assessing the value of the third pallet, but it seems likely the total value of the stolen cards will be more than $1 million. The Santa Ana Police Department is currently investigating the crime. "We are working closely with law enforcement and the carrier as the investigation continues," PSA told Mashable in a statement on Monday. "We have deactivated the certificates for the stolen items and notified marketplace partners so they can be on the lookout for rare and serialized items." Online, affected PSA customers are sharing emails from PSA informing them of the theft, and some collectors are speculating about how the thieves knew to target that particular truck. The speculation isn't unwarranted. There have been previous cases where delivery workers have been found guilty of stealing trading cards and other sports memorabilia while the items were in transit. Collectors send their trading cards to PSA, or Professional Sports Authenticator, in order to get them graded. During this process, a professional authenticates the card as legitimate and also assesses the item's condition, which could greatly boost its value to prospective buyers. According to PSA, the company will compensate customers for the stolen cards based on "fair market value up to the Maximum Insured Value." However, there are potential issues with how compensation will be assessed. One PSA customer, YouTuber Sky-B Cards, shared yesterday in a social media post that he had 104 cards stolen, worth more than $100,000. In a subsequent YouTube video, Sky-B Cards went through the list of cards that he had sent to PSA to be graded. As the YouTuber pointed out, some of these cards will be hard to calculate a reimbursement value for, as they included error cards, which usually sell at a premium when compared to the card's estimated value. Walmart adds eight parcel carriers to expand seller-fulfilled shipping options.

Walmart adds eight parcel carriers to expand seller-fulfilled shipping options. Walmart has expanded its approved carrier network for third-party marketplace sellers, adding eight parcel delivery providers to support orders fulfilled directly by sellers. Announced on October 13, the update gives sellers more options for shipping orders while maintaining tracking visibility and compliance with Walmart Marketplace requirements. The newly approved parcel carriers are UniUni, SpeedX, Exelot, SwiftX, TForce Final Mile, Gofo, OSM Worldwide and DoorDash. Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery has also been added as an option for freight shipments. The move reflects growing interest among retailers and online sellers in alternative parcel delivery providers beyond established carriers such as FedEx, UPS and the U.S. Postal Service. Smaller and specialized delivery companies are competing for business through competitive pricing, technology improvements, broader coverage and additional delivery services. Approved carriers remain important for tracking compliance. Despite the expansion, Walmart continues to identify the U.S. Postal Service, FedEx and UPS as its top preferred carriers for marketplace shipments. Other previously approved providers include OnTrac, DHL Express, Canada Post and GLS. Walmart warns sellers against using unapproved shipping carriers because the platform may be unable to validate their tracking information. According to its guidance, shipping orders through a non-approved provider may lead to listing suppression, suspension or account termination. The expanded list gives sellers more flexibility in choosing delivery partners while underscoring the importance of reliable tracking data and compliance with marketplace shipping policies. E-commerce growth increases demand for delivery capacity. The carrier additions come as Walmart's U.S. e-commerce business continues to expand. Marketplace net sales increased by more than 50% in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, according to the company's earnings announcement cited by Supply Chain Dive. E-commerce now accounts for more than 23% of Walmart's U.S. business sales mix, approximately double its share five years earlier, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer John David Rainey said during the company's August earnings call. As online order volumes grow, sellers face increasing pressure to balance shipping costs, delivery speed, geographic coverage and customer experience. A broader carrier network can give sellers additional choices when matching shipping requirements with the capabilities of individual providers. Walmart Fulfillment Services remains a major logistics channel. Many Walmart Marketplace sellers use Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), which manages logistics functions, including delivery, rather than arranging parcel shipping independently. Nearly 50% of Walmart's marketplace business flowed through WFS in the second quarter, up almost 400 basis points from 2025, Rainey said. This indicates the continued importance of Walmart-managed fulfillment even as the retailer expands carrier options for sellers handling their own shipments. The development highlights two parallel approaches within e-commerce logistics: retailer-managed fulfillment and seller-managed shipping supported by approved delivery partners. For marketplace sellers, the ability to select suitable carriers while maintaining tracking compliance may become increasingly important as order volumes and delivery expectations rise.

FedEx launches dangerous goods road services across five GCC markets. The service covers eligible shipments including lithium batteries, chemicals, diagnostic samples and laboratory reagents, subject to regulatory requirements. BySTAT Times | 19 Oct 2026 9:21 AM FedEx has launched dangerous goods transportation capabilities across its Middle East Road Network, enabling eligible regulated goods to be transported by road across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. The service is available through FedEx Regional Economy and Regional Economy Freight services, subject to commodity, origin, destination and regulatory requirements. Eligible commodities include healthcare materials, laboratory reagents, diagnostic samples, dry ice shipments, chemicals, lithium batteries and other dangerous goods. The capability is intended to support industries with complex supply chains, including healthcare and life sciences, energy and petrochemicals, hi-tech, and beauty and personal care. "As industrial activity and intra-regional trade across the GCC continue to grow, businesses are navigating increasingly complex supply chains," said Taarek Hinedi, Vice President of operations and planning and engineering at FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa. "Expanding the capabilities of our Middle East Road Network to support dangerous goods gives businesses greater flexibility to move critical commodities across GCC markets. Backed by our compliance controls, operational expertise, and regional connectivity, this capability supports industries as they build more resilient and connected supply chains," he added. Through its Regional Economy and Regional Economy Freight services, FedEx offers day-definite delivery, road transportation aligned with applicable ADR requirements, customs-cleared movements, end-to-end shipment visibility and dedicated dangerous goods handling controls. The services support both lightweight parcels and heavyweight palletised freight shipments. The FedEx Middle East Road Network connects with the company's wider network through its Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa hub at Dubai World Central (DWC) airport, linking air and road services across the region. From DWC, FedEx operates trucks across GCC corridors using a dedicated fleet of TIR-registered vehicles. The movements are GPS-tracked and customs-cleared, with round-the-clock monitoring through a dedicated control tower and end-to-end shipment visibility. US judge allows Uber to pursue RICO case against Philadelphia lawyer.

US judge allows Uber to pursue RICO case against Philadelphia lawyer. Posted: 15th October 2026 Matt Johnson Uber and FedEx can continue pursuing civil racketeering claims against Philadelphia lawyer Marc Simon and his firm Simon & Simon. Uber Technologies and FedEx can continue pursuing civil racketeering claims against Philadelphia lawyer Marc Simon and his law firm, Simon & Simon, after a federal judge rejected arguments that insurance payments prevented Uber from establishing financial injury. US District Judge Mark Kearney ruled that Uber retained the right to pursue its claims despite liability insurer Farmers having covered certain costs associated with the underlying personal injury litigation. The decision removes an obstacle to Uber's claims but does not determine whether the alleged racketeering scheme occurred. Uber and FedEx accuse Simon & Simon of participating in a coordinated scheme involving personal injury clients and medical providers. According to the companies, clients were directed towards selected healthcare providers who allegedly exaggerated injuries, recommended unnecessary treatment or produced false medical records that were subsequently used to support lawsuits seeking inflated settlements. Simon and his firm deny wrongdoing, and the allegations have not been established at trial. The latest dispute centres on whether Uber can establish the financial injury required to pursue claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commonly known as RICO, when an insurer has covered costs connected with the underlying claims. Simon argued that payments made by Farmers meant Uber had not itself suffered the necessary financial loss. Judge Kearney rejected that position, concluding that Uber had not surrendered its ability to pursue alleged wrongdoing because it maintained liability insurance and its insurer had made payments on its behalf. Simon has also argued that Uber and FedEx are improperly using federal racketeering legislation to discourage personal injury litigation against their businesses. In May, Judge Kearney rejected an earlier attempt by Simon and other defendants to dismiss the lawsuit, allowing the companies' racketeering allegations to proceed. That decision addressed arguments that the alleged conduct was protected because it arose from litigation activity. The court concluded that the conduct alleged by Uber and FedEx could not automatically be shielded from scrutiny simply because it was connected with legal proceedings. Simon subsequently brought counterclaims against Uber and FedEx, accusing the companies of pursuing baseless litigation intended to damage his practice. Those claims were dismissed in August. Following the latest ruling, an Uber spokesperson welcomed the decision and said the company remained confident in its case. Daniel Rhynhart of Blank Rome, representing Simon and his firm, expressed disappointment with the ruling and said the defendants would continue contesting the allegations. The case is scheduled for trial in March 2027. Uber and FedEx have pursued similar racketeering claims involving personal injury lawyers and medical providers in other US jurisdictions, with courts reaching differing conclusions over whether particular allegations satisfy RICO's requirements. Those cases illustrate the difficulties companies can face when attempting to use federal racketeering law to challenge conduct associated with personal injury litigation. Civil RICO claims require plaintiffs to establish statutory elements extending beyond demonstrating that an underlying lawsuit was unsuccessful, exaggerated or disputed. Plaintiffs generally must establish qualifying racketeering activity and an injury to their business or property caused by the alleged conduct. The latest ruling adds another issue: whether insurance payments prevent a corporate plaintiff from establishing the financial injury necessary to pursue a civil RICO claim. For personal injury lawyers, the wider litigation also raises questions about where legitimate representation ends and conduct capable of attracting liability under federal racketeering law begins. The latest decision does not establish misconduct by Simon or Simon & Simon. It allows Uber and FedEx to continue attempting to prove their allegations as the case moves towards trial.

FedEx launches pharma shipping portal across Europe.

FedEx launches pharma shipping portal across Europe. A new digital portal across 26 European markets aims to simplify the booking and management of temperature-controlled pharmaceutical shipments. BySTAT Times | 13 Oct 2026 9:25 PM FedEx Europe has launched an online portal to help pharmaceutical and life sciences companies book and manage temperature-controlled shipments, simplifying processes for time-sensitive healthcare deliveries across 26 European markets. Introduced ahead of the year-end peak shipping season, the portal provides access to FedEx Temp-Assure Advantage, the company's temperature-controlled shipping solution. It enables customers to complete onboarding, order pre-conditioned packaging, schedule shipments and manage returns through a single digital platform. Designed for pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology companies and clinical trial operators, the portal aims to improve convenience and control over temperature-sensitive shipments, as demand for biologics, specialty medicines and vaccines increases. FedEx Temp-Assure Advantage combines qualified packaging, tested in the company's packaging laboratory, with its European transportation network to maintain temperature integrity throughout transit. The solution supports frozen shipments between -25°C and -15°C, refrigerated shipments between 2°C and 8°C, and controlled room temperature shipments between 15°C and 25°C. The company said its vacuum-insulated packaging and phase-change materials help maintain the required temperatures for more than 96 hours. CEIV Pharma-certified facilities and standardised processes also support shipment visibility, temperature control and compliance during transportation. The solution incorporates a reusable packaging model in which containers are collected, refurbished and redeployed, helping reduce packaging waste while maintaining performance standards. Toby Hay, managing director of international marketing at FedEx Europe, said, "As pharmaceutical supply chains become more global and increasingly focused on high-value, temperature-sensitive therapies, healthcare companies need logistics partners that can combine reliability, compliance and ease of access. "This new portal represents an important step in simplifying access to specialized temperature-controlled capabilities, helping customers manage critical shipments more efficiently and with greater confidence, particularly as they prepare for the increased demands of the year-end Peak season." The online portal is available for non-freight shipments across domestic and intra-European routes in 26 markets, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
