Requirements
  • A foundation in data structures, object-oriented programming, and algorithms, with the ability to apply them to real-world problems.
  • An interest in technology, trading, pricing, and risk management; prior finance knowledge or experience is not required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively in writing and verbally, demonstrating analytical skills.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field, with experience in Java, C++, or Python.
  • Graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • A demonstrated record of success, such as academics or awards.
  • Willingness to relocate to Chicago, Illinois, for the summer.
  • Ability to participate in the full eight-week program from mid-June to early August 2027.
Responsibilities
  • Work alongside software engineers to design, solve, and test complex coding problems delivering solutions to trading tools and risk applications.
  • Build tools used by traders and quantitative researchers to price, trade, and manage risk in real time.
  • Gain exposure to the design and implementation of trading and risk systems.
  • Deliver a technical project in an impactful role mirroring that of a full-time Software Engineering Associate.
  • Gain hands-on experience with trading technology.
  • Use artificial intelligence coding assistants and agentic tooling in the daily engineering workflow.
  • Participate in classroom learning experiences covering options, market making, and the quantitative framework.
  • Attend planned social activities and talks from business leaders.
