Senior Associate, Brand Media (Strategy and Analytics)
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented media professional to join Capital One’s Brand Media Department as a Senior Associate, supporting paid media strategy, planning and activation for the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have experience planning, analyzing and optimizing across a variety of paid media including traditional and emerging platforms. Applicants must possess a strong grasp of marketing fundamentals, and be passionate about growing their media and analytics skills. Experience utilizing cross-media measurement tools, analyzing the competitive media expenditure landscape, and monitoring brand governance is also a plus. This position is responsible for paid mass media programs, not earned media or public relations.
What you’ll do
Collaborate with Brand Media strategists, Brand Strategy & Insights, Advertising, Sponsorships, Social, Performance Marketing, Marketing & Analysis, and external agency teams to support the development of integrated marketing campaigns
Incorporate relevant use of media research, measurement and analytics tools, techniques and technologies, including test market design
Evaluate research, develop points of view and inform paid media strategies and tactics that support brand/full-funnel objectives
Leverage past experience with media measurement, including incrementality, attribution and marketing mix models
Manage holistic learning agenda, quarterly media reviews and post campaign analysis reports
Monitor, analyze and report on the competitive media expenditure environment using large datasets and analytics tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau)
Support other enterprise responsibilities including brand governance, innovation, and budget management
Stay current with emerging technology and data-privacy trends in the media landscape to identify opportunity areas and future-proof Capital One’s mass media strategy
Influence partners within Brand and across the enterprise on media strategy via succinct, data driven presentations

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
At least 3 years of professional experience in marketing and/or media
At least 1 year of experience planning, executing, managing, or supporting integrated national marketing/media programs
At least 1 year of experience in managing large datasets for visualization, analysis and insight generation
Preferred Qualifications:
Marketing analytics experience at a top tier media agency, research vendor, consultancy, AdTech, media company or publisher
2+ years of experience using intermediate data management (e.g. structuring/blending with Excel pivot tables, SQL, etc.), and data visualization techniques (e.g. building Tableau workbooks/dashboards)
1+ year of experience with advanced measurement tools to determine the incremental effectiveness of marketing/media; e.g. incrementality/brand lift studies, multi-touch attribution, econometric modeling & machine learning
1+ years of experience guiding measurement projects and interpreting results to understand performance and optimize strategy, including (brand + business) incrementality studies, attribution, econometric modeling, etc.
1+ year of experience collaborating on media briefs with strategy and agency partners for large-scale campaigns
Deep understanding of media principles, planning and buying functions, and media software and research tools (MRI, Nielsen, ComScore, Kantar, etc.)
Awareness/knowledge of the latest technology trends in the media ecosystem, including MarTech, AdTech, and Programmatic

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $99,500 - $113,600 for Sr. Associate, Brand
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
