Requirements
  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices is required.
  • Two or more years of experience, preferably in a long-term care facility, is required.
  • The candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and comprehend technical procedures and policy and procedure manuals.
  • The candidate must be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • The candidate must be able to make independent decisions, solve practical problems, and exercise sound judgment.
  • The candidate must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to supervise other personnel.
  • The candidate must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures needed to provide quality care.
  • The candidate must possess knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities.
  • The candidate must possess a current, unencumbered, active registered nurse license in the state.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • The candidate must maintain required continuing education and licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • The candidate must meet the facility's general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
  • The candidate must be able to move intermittently, communicate clearly, function independently, and work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • The candidate must be able to push, pull, move, or lift at least 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry that weight at least 50 feet, including assisting with resident evacuation when necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the assigned tour of duty in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the daily functions of the nursing department.
  • Develop, maintain, and update written nursing service policies, procedures, manuals, and reference materials.
  • Ensure that nursing service personnel comply with procedures, job descriptions, safety rules, infection control requirements, and facility policies.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations concerning nursing service operations and recommend revisions to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to maintain continuity of care.
  • Participate in the nursing service quality assurance program and facility surveys conducted by authorized government agencies.
  • Review and update resident discharge plans and assist with the nursing services portion of discharge planning.
  • Attend facility committee meetings and prepare or provide nursing service reports and quality assurance information.
  • Ensure adequate licensed nurse and certified nursing assistant staffing for each tour of duty.
  • Develop work assignments and delegate administrative authority and responsibility to charge nurses.
  • Ensure that nursing assistants are enrolled in or have graduated from approved training programs and that nurse aide trainees are directly supervised by licensed nurses.
  • Make daily rounds, monitor absenteeism and staffing levels, review complaints and grievances, and report problem areas to the Director.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determine shift staffing requirements, and make recommendations regarding dismissals and transfers.
  • Provide and oversee resident admissions, transfers, discharges, assessments, care plans, treatments, and monitoring.
  • Provide direct nursing care, start intravenous lines, obtain specimens, take vital signs, and monitor seriously ill residents as needed.
  • Review nurses' notes, medication cards, treatment schedules, and resident care plans for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Monitor medication administration and treatment schedules and ensure compliance with medication storage and control procedures.
  • Notify physicians and next of kin of changes in resident condition and keep the Director informed through written and oral reports.
  • Participate in staff development, in-service training, clinical supervision, continuing education, safety programs, and infection control activities.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of personal protective equipment, medications, medical supplies, equipment, and material safety data sheets.
  • Ensure nursing work areas, resident rooms, and treatment areas are clean, safe, and sanitary.
  • Participate in developing and implementing procedures for the safe operation and maintenance of nursing equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in developing resident assessments and comprehensive plans of care and ensure personnel follow each resident's care plan.
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs and report suspected fraud involving false billings, cost reports, or kickbacks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC is preferred.
  • Experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group has acquired Ridgeway Senior Living, a post-acute care facility in Anchorage, Alaska, marking its fourth property in the state. The company has also purchased adjacent land to construct a 150-bed skilled nursing facility, expected to be completed by 2028. PACS Group appoints Carey Hendrickson as chief financial officer

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group co-founder and CFO Mark Hancock to retire after growing company from 2 facilities to $5.29B revenue

PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Hancock guided PACS through its successful initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in April 2024 and served as interim CFO from September 2025. He will be succeeded by Carey P. PACS Group appoints Optum CEO Dr Patrick Conway, former CMS deputy administrator, to board

PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion. From 2011 to 2017, Dr Conway served as deputy administrator for innovation and quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he also held roles as director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and chief medical officer. During his tenure, he led the transformation of Medicare payment policy, increasing payments in alternative payment models from virtually zero to over 30% of total Medicare payments.
