About the job

Requirements
  • Ability to break complex, cross-functional problems into concrete plans and evaluate second-order effects.
  • Ability to build scalable systems and processes rather than one-off deliverables.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, create measurable impact, and turn loose goals into concrete execution plans.
  • Ability to use artificial intelligence tools and build working automations.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and with senior stakeholders while contributing hands-on when needed.
  • Ability to move between data systems, strategy, recruiting design, and board materials.
Responsibilities
  • Capture learning across accounts and functions and turn it into playbooks, templates, and reusable materials.
  • Make operational materials available to the right people at the right time and ramp new strategists and sellers on company processes.
  • Own the company’s market point of view, sharpen its approach and differentiation, run competitor benchmarking, maintain industry knowledge, and manage positioning, pricing inputs, and commercial materials.
  • Build the data and tooling layer behind go-to-market activities and automate work that obstructs selling and serving.
  • Organize and systematize the commercial motion by defining pipeline stages and conversion metrics, running the forecast, and assessing performance by segment, territory, and buyer.
  • Make company context and knowledge accessible to employees and artificial intelligence systems, define the approach for internal automations and agents, and maintain quality standards.
  • Partner with the Talent team to define hiring profiles, design cases and evaluation tools, and measure recruiting-loop predictors of success.
  • Run business planning, goals, the company scorecard, and leadership meetings.
  • Build board and investor materials, scale people functions, and help the founders determine the company’s future direction.
Desired Qualifications
  • Four to eight or more years of experience, ideally combining consulting, banking, or investing with early-stage startup experience; a strong professional-services background is also acceptable.
  • A track record of building systems or processes adopted by others, such as a customer relationship management system, dashboard, hiring loop, or planning cadence.
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets, data, a customer relationship management system, an applicant tracking system, and a knowledge base.
  • Exposure to enterprise business-to-business software sales; life sciences experience is a plus.
  • Daily hands-on use of Claude Code and Codex and experience building with them.

About the company

Valkai builds an agent orchestration layer for pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies, connecting the siloed systems, teams, and outside data that make development slow. Its agents run on an organization's own SOPs, precedents, and regulatory context, draw on more than 100 data sources, and execute multi-step workflows that end in review-ready documents with citations, covering everything from discovery through commercialization. The company says more than 200 agent systems coordinate work across those stages, and it deploys through private cloud or managed SaaS. Unlike a general-purpose assistant, the agents are bound to the procedures and evidence standards a regulated submission requires. The company's goal is to compress work that currently takes months into weeks by removing the handoffs between systems.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Valkai’s site says it serves the world’s largest pharma, biotech, and med-device companies.
  • Open roles in New York and San Francisco signal active hiring in 2026.
  • The company targets regulated workflows, where compliance pain creates sticky enterprise adoption.

What critics are saying

  • Simplify shows no independent funding, customers, or partnerships beyond Valkai’s own site.
  • Valkaai’s €12 million pre-seed news creates name confusion and weakens investor credibility.
  • If pharma pilots stall, the company’s broad platform story becomes an existential sales trap.

What makes Valkai unique

  • Valkai sells an agent orchestration layer across R&D, clinical, regulatory, quality, manufacturing.
  • It claims 200+ agent systems and 100+ data sources, spanning the full lifecycle.
  • The team says it was built by OpenAI, Glean, and life-sciences veterans.
