SGS half-year results

SGS half-year results SGS grows despite strong franc and exceeds expectations. The testing and certification group increases revenue organically by 5.6 percent and sticks to its annual targets. CEO Géraldine Picaud relies on acquisitions and aims to drive the margin above 16 percent. Published: 24.07.2026, 07:09 The testing and certification group SGS continued to grow in the first half of 2026 and increased profitability. The group is sticking to the targets set for the full year. The same applies to the targets of the strategic program running until 2027. SGS's revenue rose by 7.6 percent to 3.68 billion francs, the group announced on Friday. Currency effects again slowed growth, while further acquisitions compensated for this. Organically, i.e., adjusted for currency and acquisition effects, revenue increased by 5.6 percent. SGS achieves operating profit of 555 million francs. An increase was also achieved in earnings: Adjusted operating profit advanced by 9.0 percent to 555 million francs. And the corresponding margin rose by 0.2 percentage points to 15.1 percent. Net profit attributable to shareholders was 309 million francs, 1.6 percent lower than the previous year. With the first-half figures, SGS slightly exceeded analyst expectations, primarily in terms of revenue. They had expected an average (AWP consensus) revenue of 3.63 billion francs and organic growth of 5.3 percent. The operating margin came in as expected. SGS reaffirms targets. SGS achieved further growth in the first half of the year despite the conflict in the Middle East, and even slightly accelerated this growth in the second quarter, CEO Géraldine Picaud is quoted as saying. In the second quarter, organic growth was 5.9 percent, compared to 5.3 percent in the first quarter. The group considers itself on track to achieve the targets set for 2026. SGS is aiming for organic growth in the range of 5 to 7 percent and at the same time wants to bring the adjusted operating margin above the 16 percent mark. SGS sticks to "Strategy 27". SGS is also sticking to the targets set under "Strategy 27". Accordingly, revenue is to be increased organically by 5 to 7 percent annually by 2027. And the operating margin is to improve to 16.2 percent. According to Picaud, the growth was also supported by the 14 supplementary acquisitions made in 2026 to date. The last major acquisition was that of the US testing and inspection services company ATS last year. At ATS, initial synergies for the group have now been realized, it said. The group plans to present new medium-term targets in November at an investor day. Minaurum Silver soars 11.29% to $0.345, highest close since latest drill results.

Minaurum Silver soars 11.29% to $0.345, highest close since latest drill results. Minaurum Silver (TSXV: MGG) gained by 11.29% today to $0.345 per share on a weak day for nearly all gold/silver stocks, which is an extremely bullish sign. Westward Gold (CSE: WG) Chairman Quinton Hennigh may be the #1 geologist in the world today, but Minaurum Silver (TSXV: MGG) was originally backed by J. David Lowell, the #1 most successful geologist in world history. In January 2026, Minaurum announced its inaugural mineral resource estimate of 5.37 million tonnes containing 55.2 million ounces of silver equivalent ("AgEq") grading 320 g/t AgEq, or 202 g/t silver, 0.21 g/t gold, 0.43% copper, 0.97% lead, and 2.01% zinc. The resource contains 34.8 million ounces of silver, 35,640 ounces of gold, 51.0 million pounds of copper, 115 million pounds of lead, and 238 million pounds of zinc. MGG has just engaged SGS Metallurgy and Consulting Geological Services to update the mineral resource estimate for its high-grade Alamos Silver Project. Following MGG's huge news last week that it intercepted 5.95 m of 1,117 g/t AgEq, including 2.40 m of 2,557 g/t AgEq, in Hole AL26-215 at the Quintera Vein Zone and also intercepted 3.65 m of 888 g/t AgEq, including 2.65 m of 1,053 g/t AgEq, in Hole AL26-207 at the Europa Sur Vein Zone... Inflation could be looking at a significant increase in mineral resources. Importantly, Minaurum's Alamos Silver Project is one of the few undeveloped silver projects that is already fully permitted for production, which means its odds of future development are significantly higher than those of most other silver exploration stocks. Take a look below at the areas in green that will be added to Minaurum's silver resource estimate: Most silver stocks will never return to their recent highs, but MGG is different: it is building real shareholder value. NIA is receiving compensation from MGG of US$100,000 cash for a twelve-month marketing contract and previously received US$60,000 cash for past marketing contracts which have since expired. Li Auto earns world-first SGS Premium Performance Mark for automotive cellular communication. SGS presents the world's first SGS Premium Performance Mark for an automotive cellular communication product to Li Auto, recognizing the L9 Livis 5G intelligent cockpit platform. Li Auto achieves a world-first SGS certification, validating real-world 5G cockpit connectivity performance across complex driving conditions. BAAR, SWITZERLAND, July 14, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / - SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, is delighted to announce the first award of the SGS Premium Performance Mark for an automotive cellular communication product. Li Auto's L9 Livis 5G high-performance intelligent cockpit platform was evaluated using SGS's proprietary testing protocol for automotive 5G cockpit communication (PT-26-000-105640). The assessment evaluates product performance across multiple technical dimensions using a structured and rigorous methodology. The SGS Premium Performance Mark focuses on real-world connectivity performance rather than isolated technical parameters, reflecting a more comprehensive approach to evaluating in-vehicle communication capabilities. Connectivity was translated into performance using measurable indicators, providing a structured and consistent approach to assessing real-world user experience, and SGS's independent and rigorous testing demonstrated that the platform exceeded standard thresholds across all four dimensions: - Connection stability - Bandwidth capacity - Weak-signal recovery capability - Performance under network congestion for key services Stable connections, efficient data transmission and a responsive user experience distinguished Li Auto's platform, credibly demonstrating validated high performance under real-world conditions. About SGS Premium Performance Mark The Premium Performance Mark recognizes real-world user experience validation, reflecting a shift from purely technical specifications such as peak speed.
