- Strong background in software product development and delivery, ideally in regulated environments.
- Experience leading product and/or engineering teams in practice.
- A track record of introducing processes that were successfully embedded.
- Deep understanding of modern software development using agile or hybrid approaches.
- Strong execution drive and follow-through until processes work sustainably.
- Ability to navigate engineering, regulatory, medical, and commercial interfaces.
- Fluency in English.
- Based in Hamburg with regular on-site presence.
Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
- Own how software products and projects are built, delivered, and scaled.
- Build and scale the operating backbone of the software organization by introducing clear ownership, predictable delivery, and sustainable leadership structures.
- Bring clarity to priorities based on medical relevance and clinical impact.
- Introduce pragmatic software-native processes suited for regulated medical artificial intelligence.
- Ensure commitments are met and accountability is maintained across teams.
- Embed execution discipline into daily operations without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Lead and mentor four direct reports and support approximately 10–15 team members across multiple project teams.
- Coach junior leaders and help them develop ownership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Establish a leadership culture focused on accountability, clarity, and mutual support.
- Professionalize the product and project delivery setup.
- Introduce clear prioritization frameworks and operating rhythms.
- Align medical, regulatory, engineering, and commercial perspectives.
- Balance agility with regulatory rigor in ISO 13485, IVDR, and FDA environments.
- Ensure reliable execution, predictable delivery, and high product quality.
- Ensure introduced processes are sustainably implemented and followed.
- Bring medical understanding into product discussions and prioritization.
- Translate clinical requirements into structured product decisions.
- Ensure artificial intelligence solutions reflect real-world clinical workflows and medical needs.
- Act as a credible sparring partner to medical stakeholders and clinical partners.
- Design and implement pragmatic agile or hybrid delivery models for regulated artificial intelligence software.
- Ensure quality management system and regulatory processes are followed in daily work.
- Improve transparency across projects, documentation systems, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Create clear feedback loops and key performance indicators for delivery performance.
- Act as a sparring partner to the Chief Executive Officer on product direction, organizational structure, and scaling decisions.
- Contribute to long-term operating model design.
- Align product, engineering, regulatory, and commercial priorities.
