Requirements
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical, sheet metal, or manufacturing assembly supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and assembly processes.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience in a production environment.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and quality standards in manufacturing.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and manufacturing or production management systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and inspect assembly operations for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all HVAC assembly operations.
  • Assign tasks, balance workloads, and monitor productivity to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Ensure assembled units meet company quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and escalate concerns as required.
  • Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and documentation.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate assembly staff and team leaders.
  • Conduct safety talks, toolbox meetings, and production briefings.
  • Support workforce planning, scheduling, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Communicate with day-shift leadership.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta occupational health and safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Support quality initiatives, including inspections, documentation, bills of materials, and non-conformance reporting.
  • Partner with quality and engineering teams to resolve defects and process gaps.
  • Monitor inventory levels of assembly materials and report shortages or requirements.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, and logistics to prevent material delays.
  • Ensure material availability aligns with production demands.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies during production operations.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement initiatives where applicable.
  • Support automation, tooling upgrades, and workflow improvements.
  • Assist in controlling labor, material usage, and scrap to reduce waste and cost.
  • Maintain a hands-on leadership presence on the production floor throughout the shift.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lean Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification or experience.
