Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in mechanical systems, commissioning, facilities operations, engineering, construction, maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure, controls, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to lead mechanical commissioning execution, guide technical teams, and support complex project coordination.
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, controls, and integrated building operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, commissioning plans, trend data, and technical documentation.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, quality assurance, leadership, communication, documentation, and client-facing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and commissioning documentation tools or project software.
  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
  • Ability to perform site inspections, including walking project sites, climbing ladders, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces when needed.
Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical commissioning execution for systems supporting mission-critical facilities and data centers.
  • Oversee field execution, functional performance testing, integrated testing support, and closeout activities across assigned scopes or projects.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex mechanical system issues and drive practical resolution with project stakeholders.
  • Align commissioning activities with project scope, schedule, client expectations, and EEI quality standards.
  • Communicate project status, technical findings, risks, recommendations, and follow-up needs with clients and project teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and prioritization support for Mechanical Support, Mechanical Specialists, and Senior Mechanical Specialists.
  • Strengthen safe, consistent, and high-quality commissioning practices across the mechanical discipline.
  • Work closely with project teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, equipment manufacturers, engineers, project managers, and senior technical team members across disciplines.
  • Represent EEI with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience leading commissioning teams or complex commissioning efforts in mission-critical facilities, data centers, healthcare facilities, or other high-reliability environments.
  • Experience supporting project planning, resource coordination, client communication, issue escalation, and commissioning closeout across multiple projects or teams.
  • Professional certifications or ongoing development related to commissioning, building performance, project leadership, people leadership, or mechanical systems.
  • Professional Engineer, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, Certified Commissioning Authority, Project Management Professional, or equivalent certification.
