Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
  • Current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training are required, along with 5+ years of experience working as a Service Technician in a commercial environment.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with a handheld computer, such as a smartphone or iPad, are required.
  • Electrical knowledge is required.
  • Candidates must be able to work in diverse conditions, including mechanical equipment rooms with noisy operating equipment, extreme weather, risk of high-voltage electrical shock, and elevated heights.
  • Candidates must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple, varied duties.
  • Candidates must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
  • Candidates must be able to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret graphs.
  • Candidates must be able to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel substantially within the operational region and work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as required.
  • Candidates must be willing to work in adverse conditions and report to and from the same site daily.
Responsibilities
  • Manage projects and processes independently and with limited supervision.
  • Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Address difficult and complex situations and develop solutions.
  • Start up, commission, and support building management systems on represented equipment.
  • Perform factory start-up, commissioning, and warranty service on represented data center equipment and systems.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections to ensure equipment reaches peak performance.
  • Interpret engineering drawings regarding system layout, location, and operation.
  • Represent the company positively to other trades, contractors, and owners.
  • Suggest additional services that benefit customers.
  • Share information and workload in a team environment while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Submit required paperwork to the Data Mission Critical Administrator in a timely manner.
  • Work safely and ensure safety measures are followed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on dedicated equipment at the site.
  • Produce clear, timely, and concise documentation and describe problems and solutions accurately.
  • Use planning, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills to prioritize multiple tasks.
Desired Qualifications
  • EPA Certification is preferred.
  • An HVAC Journeyman or Master license is preferred.
