About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A Pharmacy Technician Certificate is required.
- A New York State license is required.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Replenish floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fill floor stock requests accurately, and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Identify medications no longer in use in the Operating Room, return medications to the pharmacy, and appropriately manage those medications.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations.
- Rotate stock to ensure medications are used before their expiration date.
- Maintain logs, records, and other required documentation accurately, and file documentation in appropriate locations.
- Complete and document monthly inspections of assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner without supervisor intervention.
- College courses are desirable.
- Two to three years of pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
