Sprouts Farmers Market operates as a specialty grocery retailer focused on natural and organic foods. It runs more than 400 stores in 24 states, offering a curated selection that mirrors a farmers market, including produce, organic options, vitamins and supplements, bulk foods, meat and dairy, and natural body care. Stores are smaller (about 23,000 square feet) to emphasize freshness and efficiency, with a strong distribution network to keep products fresh. A major part of its offering is private-label products (over 2,400 items) that made up about 23% of sales in late 2024, helping margins and loyalty. The company differentiates itself by concentrating on hard-to-find natural and specialty items, health-focused categories (plant-based, gluten-free, keto, paleo), and a farm-market shopping vibe, rather than competing as a traditional grocery store. Its goal is to make natural foods more accessible and affordable while serving as a complementary destination for health-minded shoppers.

Sprouts Farmers Market opens new 180,000-square-foot HQ. Grocer's new Phoenix corporate campus spans 7 acres Sprouts' new corporate campus is meant to meet the needs of the grocer's growing workforce and continued expansion. Sprouts Farmers Market has opened its new 180,000-square-foot corporate headquarters in the CityNorth neighborhood of Phoenix. The move marks the completion of a multi-year project centered on the grocer's people, culture and growth, according to Keyser Commercial Real Estate. Keyser, which served as Sprouts' commercial real estate advisor throughout the project, said that the new headquarters spans 7 acres and includes a new office building and retail spaces, in addition to the grocer's flagship store that opened in July. "Sprouts had a clear vision for what it wanted its new headquarters to mean for its people and its future," said Jonathan Keyser, managing partner at the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based real estate company. "Our job was to understand that vision and help Sprouts navigate the real estate decisions and execution required along the way." Located within the $2 billion CityNorth master-planned development, Sprouts' new corporate campus is meant to meet the needs of the grocer's growing workforce and continued expansion, PG reported in October. The project, which was designed to foster collaboration and employee well-being, includes such amenities as a rooftop deck and an on-site fitness center. "Keyser is a trusted partner and made the near impossible happen from a complexity, timing and cost perspective," Sprouts CEO Jack Sinclair said. Sprouts' other partners on its headquarters project included Trammell Crow Co., U.S. Realty Advisors, RSP Architects, Wespac Construction Inc. and JLL. The opening of Sprouts' new headquarters comes on the heels of the grocer's announcement that President and COO Nick Konat will transition to the CEO role, effective Jan. 4, 2027. At that time, Sinclair, who has been CEO since 2019, will transition to the role of executive chairman. Sprouts revealed in July that its sales were up 5% year over year in Q2, with the Sprouts private brand performing better than the rest of the business and representing 26% of total sales. Sprouts also said that its organic offerings continue to gain traction across departments, representing more than 30% of total sales in Q2. Sprouts is a fast-growing specialty retailer of fresh, natural and organic food. It operates approximately 490 stores across 25 states. The Phoenix-based grocer employs more than 36,000 associates and is No. 45 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer's 2026 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America. PG also named Sprouts among its 10 Most Sustainable Grocers for 2026.
