  • A relevant university degree or diploma with emphasis on Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • A professional designation or industry accreditation such as Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Manager, Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, Master of Business Administration, or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst is an asset.
  • Three to five years of progressive, related experience, preferably with a large asset management, investment firm, or banking institution; an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience will be considered.
  • Good understanding of agency securities lending programs, including the loan lifecycle, recalls, borrower counterparty limits, collateral reinvestment, and agent lender oversight.
  • Competent understanding of global capital markets, financial instruments, data management, accounting principles, unitized pool transactions, corporate actions, and global payment and settlement mechanisms, with the ability to step into different roles when required.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory reporting, Uncleared Margin Rules, initial margin calculation requirements, Standard Initial Margin Model methodology, and collateral-management optimization techniques.
  • Experience in foreign-exchange hedge management, derivative valuations, quantitative valuation models and derivative analytics, investments, and funding decisions, including derivative models, Bloomberg AIM, ICE Data Services, TriResolve, MarkitWire, AcadiaSoft, RStudio, Python, Visual Basic for Applications, and Structured Query Language.
  • Ability to evaluate the consequences of different options and gather and validate new information and concepts when solving problems.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada, including the ability to maintain authorization for the duration of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Complete daily valuations and profit-and-loss optimization of lifecycle events for listed and over-the-counter derivatives across equity, fixed-income, foreign-exchange, and credit products, including reset management, reset income generation, fixings, expiries, triggers, and corporate-action elections.
  • Set up and confirm new over-the-counter derivatives trades, perform amendments such as fixings and cash-flow schedules, and approve trades in the derivatives execution order-management system.
  • Support derivatives regulatory-reporting obligations by validating trade-repository submissions and identifying and resolving reporting breaks within required deadlines.
  • Execute BCI asset-allocation movements and apply business judgment to meet allocation targets.
  • Calculate, issue, and confirm daily variation and initial-margin calls; monitor counterparty exposures; and resolve valuation and initial-margin disputes by reviewing equity, interest-rate, and foreign-exchange risk-sensitivity data, maintaining the dispute log, and escalating aged items.
  • Make collateral-funding decisions using cheapest-to-deliver analysis across eligibility schedules, haircuts, and opportunity cost to minimize funding costs and increase securities-lending revenue under internal directives and frameworks.
  • Manage foreign-exchange hedge rolls within predetermined hedging ratios by entering hedge trades, mitigating roll and concentration risk, optimizing foreign-exchange returns, and netting spot trades to reduce costs.
  • Maintain a real-time view of available collateral inventory across systems, the custodian, and clearing accounts, and liaise with the custodian and counterparties to process collateral movements within specified deadlines.
  • Monitor the agency securities-lending program, review daily loan activity and utilization rates, and escalate exceptions to support optimized collateral funding and increased client returns while mitigating risk.
  • Coordinate securities-lending recalls so loaned securities are returned in time for sales, corporate actions, and proxy-voting requirements.
  • Leverage artificial-intelligence models and agentic automation with Financial Engineering to streamline derivatives lifecycle management, margin-call processing, and securities-lending monitoring, and improve collateral and lending decisions.
  • Provide settlement-activity instructions to Trade Management, Cash Operations, and Investment Accounting.
  • Ensure processes meet the minimum audit and internal-control framework and adhere to compliance and risk-management policies.
  • Optimize branch workflows by identifying process-improvement and automation opportunities, underlying issues, and solutions; prepare periodic reports; and perform analysis and back-testing of models and market data for new strategies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience applying artificial-intelligence models, agentic workflows, and automation tools to streamline operational processes and enhance decision-making.
