  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Seven to nine years of Java or Java Platform, Enterprise Edition experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Java, Java Platform, Enterprise Edition, Standard Widget Toolkit, Apache Ant, HyperText Markup Language, JavaScript, and jQuery is required.
  • Knowledge of JBoss Application Server and Apache is required.
  • Knowledge of Hibernate, Struts, or Spring Framework is required.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, Open Database Connectivity, and Java Database Connectivity drivers is required.
  • Cloud implementation experience is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • Strong analytical skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail are required.
  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance and pass a Federal Suitability Check for a position of public trust is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide full life-cycle development using Java technology.
  • Understand coding standards and implement them in developed code.
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide solutions.
  • Communicate with users to determine problems or design requirements.
  • Lead the team and project and deliver work on time.
  • Document changes and independently follow the Systems Development Life Cycle process.
  • Learn and adopt new technologies within a short period as required by the project.
  • Design solutions for complex projects.
  • Coordinate with the customer to review software application requirements and provide or propose technical solutions and architectural designs for enhancements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services technology is an advantage.
  • Experience with Subversion or Concurrent Versions System as a configuration management tool is desirable.
  • Amazon Web Services cloud services and DevOps experience is a plus.
