  • Must be able to use office equipment, including a copier/scanner/fax, telephone, and calculator.
  • Must maintain resident-care confidentiality, including protected health information, and report suspected unauthorized disclosure.
  • Must report suspected unauthorized attempts to access the facility information system.
  • Must follow established policies for exposure to blood and body fluids and report occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must use only authorized facility abbreviations when recording information and only perform care procedures and use equipment for which trained.
Responsibilities
  • Provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with their assessments and care plans, as directed by supervisors.
  • Identify residents using a wristband or photo card file before treatments, meal service, and other care as needed.
  • Report changes in resident condition to the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse as soon as practical.
  • Record information in flow sheets, notes, charts, and other records descriptively and informatively.
  • Report accidents and incidents observed during the shift on which they occur.
  • Prepare resident rooms for arrivals, greet and escort residents to their rooms, introduce them to roommates and personnel, and help them become comfortable.
  • Inventory and mark residents’ personal possessions, store clothing, assist with packing possessions for transfers or discharge, transport residents to new rooms or receiving areas, and assist with loading and unloading residents from vehicles as needed.
  • Maintain a warm, calm, and resident-centered atmosphere throughout the unit and shift.
  • Meet regularly with nursing personnel on the shift to help identify and correct problems and improve services.
  • Report resident complaints and grievances, participate in and receive nursing reports, and follow assigned work schedules and instructions.
  • Make beds, provide extra covers as requested, and keep residents dry by changing wet or soiled gowns, clothing, and linens.
  • Measure and record residents’ temperatures, pulses, respirations, weight, and measurements as instructed.
  • Frequently check residents who cannot call for help, answer calls promptly, and routinely ensure personal-care needs are met in accordance with residents’ wishes.
  • Help residents identify the food on their trays, record food and fluid intake, report changes in eating habits, keep water pitchers clean, filled, and within reach, and provide after-meal care.
  • Assist residents with dental and mouth care, bathing, grooming, dressing, and undressing.
  • Assist residents in preparing for medical tests and physical examinations; assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents using beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
  • Perform restorative, rehabilitative, and special treatments as instructed.
  • Observe and report pressure areas, skin breakdown, injuries of unknown source, and skin tears; observe disoriented and comatose residents and record and report data as instructed.
  • Immediately notify the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse if a resident leaves or is missing from the facility.
  • Report defective equipment to the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse.
  • Report allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property.
  • Honor residents’ refusals of treatment and report such requests to a supervisor.
  • Cooperate with interdepartmental and facility personnel to maintain adequate nursing services for residents.
  • Notify the facility when late or absent.
  • Assist with resident evacuation during emergencies when necessary.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
