About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Three to five or more years of construction estimating experience.
- Experience with self-perform work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Project.
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff or similar estimating software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Lead and support the estimating process from initial review through bid submission.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Prepare, organize, and manage bid packages.
- Solicit and manage subcontractor and vendor bids.
- Track and respond to requests for information during the bidding phase.
- Analyze project costs and develop competitive bid strategies.
- Support scheduling and project planning efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
- Review and contribute to project financials, including profit-and-loss considerations.
- Deliver accurate, thorough, and competitive bid analyses.
