Robinhood has unveiled new AI-driven agent apps aimed at providing individual traders with hedge fund-like capabilities. CEO Vlad Tenev announced the tools at a Houston summit, outlining features that include round-the-clock trading across multiple asset classes and autonomous "agent loops" that can operate independently whilst users sleep. The platform will also grant access to specialised data sources, including satellite imagery and blockchain analytics. The move represents Robinhood's latest effort to democratise sophisticated trading tools previously available only to institutional investors. Tenev discussed the company's vision during an appearance on Bloomberg The Close, emphasising the safety of the new AI-powered applications.
Robinhood unveiled numerous features at its HOOD Summit, including weekend stock trading, expanded margin trading, and new order types. Three developments stood out: AI agents, perpetual futures, and social trading. The company is integrating AI agents directly into its app, giving them access to specialised data from providers like Token Terminal, Quiver, and Unusual Whales. These agents will help users conduct research and form investment theses. Robinhood is rolling out perpetual futures trading to US users, offering up to 10x leverage on Bitcoin and Ethereum. The service runs through Bitstamp rather than Lighter, sending LIT tokens down approximately 17% within an hour of the announcement. The company also launched Robinhood Social to all eligible US users, allowing them to share charts, portfolio allocations, and profit-and-loss statements. The feature, similar to competitor Fomo, aims to make trading more discoverable and accessible to retail investors.
Robinhood Markets will offer 24/7 trading in select stocks, including weekends, the company announced at its HOOD Summit 2026. The company also unveiled Robinhood Agents, AI tools powered by OpenAI and Anthropic that can research markets, build strategies, and execute trades within customer-set limits. More than 150,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts, with agents using tools nearly 30 million times daily. A feature called Loops will automatically run strategies when market conditions are met. Agent Apps will integrate premium data from providers including Nasdaq, Unusual Whales, and SpotGamma. Additional upgrades include perpetual futures for US customers, crypto perpetual futures with up to 10x leverage, extended options trading hours, and up to 4x intraday margin. Robinhood is also rolling out Robinhood Social and introducing a live earnings experience.
Robinhood Markets announced it will enable weekend trading for a curated selection of US stocks and exchange-traded funds, marking its first expansion into weekend hours. The feature, built with overnight trading platform Bruce ATS, is pending regulatory review. The company's shares rose in premarket trading following the announcement. Robinhood has offered round-the-clock weekday trading since 2023, with up to 25% of daily volume on busy days occurring outside regular hours. Robinhood also unveiled tools for active traders through a partnership with Cboe Global Markets, including the ability to wager on earnings estimates and revenue targets. Eligible US customers will gain access to perpetual futures and AI agents for trade execution. The expansion comes as exchanges push to extend trading hours, though some market participants worry about thin liquidity outside normal hours affecting prices.
Robinhood has launched an AI trading agent that executes trades on behalf of users. Adam Johnson cautioned that while the technology is innovative, the company's stock appears overvalued. Johnson pointed out that Robinhood shares are trading at 55 times earnings, significantly higher than the S&P 500's valuation. He described the AI agent as potentially being "a little too wild" despite its technological advancement. The new feature allows the platform's users to automate their trading activities through artificial intelligence, marking a notable expansion of Robinhood's service offerings.
