  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in business or a related field is preferred.
  • You have at least 10 years experience in personal and commercial lines underwriting.
  • You hold a CIP or FCIP designation.
  • You have demonstrated leadership ability by motivating and influencing others towards the achievement of common goals and objectives.
  • You are highly knowledgeable about the insurance industry, market conditions and trends.
Responsibilities
  • Report to Vice President, Underwriting, Rating and Product.
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Exhibit sound knowledge of AMA Insurance products, guidelines and policy wordings.
  • Drive initiatives to optimize risk selection and enhance pricing accuracy to achieve desired profitability targets.
  • Oversee the process and delivery model associated with underwriting operations, ensuring adherence to established underwriting guidelines.
  • Monitor the performance of the personal lines portfolio, identifying opportunities for expansion or modification.
  • Implement solutions to address underperforming segments and drive portfolio profitability.
  • Leverage market research and customer feedback to identify emerging trends and customer needs.
  • Lead product development to enhance existing offerings and develop new personal lines products.
  • Measure the effectiveness of underwriting processes and portfolio performance.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate performance metrics to senior management.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and distribution teams to ensure alignment of underwriting strategies with overall business objectives.
