  • Must-have skills include IBM WebSphere Application Server application deployment, API Gateway, and middleware.
  • Oracle engineering experience, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, performance tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, schema design, and enterprise-scale high availability and disaster recovery implementation.
  • SQL Server engineering experience, including AlwaysOn availability groups, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, query tuning, execution plans, index optimization, and high availability configuration for financial services workloads.
  • PostgreSQL experience, including streaming and logical replication, partitioning, VACUUM tuning, pg_stat analysis, and extensions such as TimescaleDB, PostGIS, and Citus.
  • MongoDB experience, including replica set and sharded cluster operations, aggregation pipeline optimization, index strategy, Atlas operations, and change stream engineering.
  • Cloud database services experience with AWS RDS/Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL/Spanner, and Azure Cosmos DB, including provisioning, high availability, replication, and cost optimization.
  • CA SiteMinder experience, including authentication platform and adapter configuration, process orchestration, high availability deployment, and performance tuning.
  • Application and web services experience designing, installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting IBM WAS, WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, IBM IHS, and Apache.
  • IBM MQ experience, including queue manager high availability clustering, channel security, dead-letter handling, adapter configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Infrastructure-as-code and automation experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins for database and middleware provisioning, configuration management, and continuous integration and delivery pipelines for schema and integration deployment.
  • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform experience, including API design with RAML/OAS, DataWeave transformation, Mule runtime management, CloudHub deployment, and API-led connectivity.
  • Database and middleware observability experience using Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, and ELK, including slow query analysis, message lag alerting, and distributed tracing.
  • Financial services compliance experience with PCI DSS, SOX, and DORA, including database encryption, audit logging, data residency, data masking, and regulatory evidence production.
  • Mandatory certifications: Oracle DB Certified Professional (OCP); Microsoft SQL Server/Azure Data certification; MuleSoft Certified Developer or Architect; IBM WAS/IBM MQ certification; AWS Database Specialty; and Terraform/Ansible Associate or Professional.

Responsibilities

  • Support operations and/or manage delivery for production systems and services based on operational requirements and service agreements.
  • Design, build, and operate enterprise relational database platforms—Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM; SQL Server AlwaysOn, SSAS, SSIS; and PostgreSQL—across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Engineer and maintain cloud-native database services—AWS RDS/Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL/Spanner, and Azure Cosmos DB—including provisioning, high availability configuration, replication, and automated failover.
  • Implement and operate MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters for high-throughput, low-latency financial services workloads.
  • Build and maintain database automation, including infrastructure-as-code provisioning, schema migration pipelines, backup and restore validation, and patching automation.
  • Design and implement database high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity architectures that meet recovery time and recovery point commitments for Tier 1 financial services workloads.
  • Engineer database performance through query optimization, index strategy, execution plan analysis, wait event diagnosis, and capacity right-sizing across platforms.
  • Implement and maintain database security controls, including transparent data encryption, column-level encryption, role-based access control, auditing, and data masking, aligned with PCI DSS and SOX requirements.
  • Drive database observability through metrics collection, slow query alerting, replication lag monitoring, and capacity trending across on-premises and cloud estates.
  • Engineer and operate IBM MQ and RabbitMQ messaging infrastructure, including queue manager configuration, channel security, high availability clustering, and dead-letter queue management.
  • Design and build IBM WAS, IBM IHS, Tomcat, and Apache HTTP Server platforms, including broker cluster operations, topic design, partition strategy, consumer group management, Schema Registry, and Kafka Connect pipelines.
  • Engineer the CA SiteMinder authentication platform and adapter configuration, process orchestration, high availability deployment, and performance tuning.
  • Design and operate enterprise API Gateway infrastructure, including IBM WAS, IBM IHS, Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and Istio or Linked, for microservices traffic management, mutual TLS enforcement, observability, and circuit breaking.
  • Build continuous integration/continuous delivery and GitOps pipelines for middleware platform configuration, integration flow deployment, and schema lifecycle management.
  • Drive integration platform observability through distributed tracing, message throughput dashboards, error rate alerting, and end-to-end latency analysis across the integration stack.
  • Set platform engineering standards, reference patterns, and infrastructure-as-code module libraries for database and middleware platforms, codified and reusable across teams.
  • Conduct production readiness reviews and technical design assessments for data and integration workstreams.
  • Lead proof-of-concept engineering for emerging database and integration technologies and deliver evidence-based build-versus-buy recommendations.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers in database internals, integration patterns, and production operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reducing toil through automation, improving platform reliability, and eliminating technical debt across the data and middleware estate.
  • Support audit, regulatory, and risk management activities by producing platform configuration evidence, data lineage documentation, and compliance reports.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with data streaming architectures, including change data capture (Debezium), event sourcing, and CQRS patterns across Kafka and cloud messaging services.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL or AsyncAPI for API and event schema governance in integration platforms.
