Requirements
  • University degree required and a degree in Finance, Economics or related field preferred
  • 5-10 years+ of strong and extensive experience in either an investment management or investment specialist role within the Alternatives/Private Assets industry, preferably with a Private Credit focus. Direct Lending experience a plus.
  • A passion for financial markets and a strong proficiency with general Fixed Income and Credit topics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including an ability to assess and convey market dynamics, portfolio strategy and risk factors
  • An aptitude for public speaking in a variety of settings and audience sizes
  • An analytical approach and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel required, including experience using MS Office software to produce high quality presentations
  • Proficient data analysis skills and AI fluency
  • Self-starter with strong drive and motivation to succeed and demonstrable track record in doing so
  • Ability to meet all deadlines with a strong attention to detail
  • CFA or CAIA, or a willingness to seek the designation desired
  • Willingness to travel
Responsibilities
  • Take a senior Client Portfolio Management role within our European Private Credit business primarily focussed on Barings’ Global and European Direct Lending capabilities
  • Serving as a primary business development liaison for Barings’ European Private Credit Capabilities
  • Communicating investment strategies internally and externally with the goal of growing assets under management in our regional private debt funds
  • Providing scheduled and ad-hoc updates on all aspects of the Private Credit market including investment performance, market levels etc.
  • Stay abreast of market developments and competitor intelligence
  • Contribute to preparation of, and active participation in, meetings with current and prospective clients
  • Collaborate with various teams internally to lead client proposals (RFPs) and due-diligence questionnaires (DDQs) to support the winning of new business and retaining existing clients
  • Responding in a timely manner to client and prospect requests
  • Attending investment team meetings where required to build subject matter expertise across the various investment strategies
  • Participate in and coordinate product development initiatives in conjunction with the Product Development team for the Private Credit Business at Barings
  • Oversee the creation of all marketing material including fact sheets and pitch books for Barings’ global and regional fund offerings
  • Review reporting materials for existing clients and respond to client reporting inquiries on a timely basis
  • Contribute to Thought Leadership materials, in cooperation with investment staff and Barings Marketing staff

Barings finances Inflexion's investment in German medical consumables firm Primed Group

Barings has arranged secured credit facilities supporting Inflexion's investment in Primed Group, a German manufacturer of medical consumables and sterilisation services. Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 1946 and based in Halberstadt, Primed designs, manufactures and distributes single-use medical products used by hospitals and healthcare facilities. The company employs over 450 people and operates a vertically integrated manufacturing platform. Primed's MDR-certified products are used in more than 70 countries. The business also operates HA2, described as one of Europe's largest medical sterilisation platforms. Inflexion manages approximately €20 billion and targets middle-market businesses valued from €50 million to over €1 billion. Barings has approximately $502 billion in assets under management as of 30 June 2026.

Barings hires Ankit Aggarwal to lead global CLO issuance for $55B platform

Barings has appointed Ankit Aggarwal as Head of Global CLO Issuance and Capital Markets, a newly created role. Based in New York, Aggarwal will lead the firm's global CLO issuance platform and capital markets strategy for its $55 billion CLO platform spanning broadly syndicated loans, private credit, and infrastructure debt. Aggarwal joins from Bank of America, where he led the US CLO banking and structuring team and CLO equity distribution. He has nearly two decades of experience in structured credit and capital markets. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President at Deutsche Bank, focusing on CLO origination and structuring. Barings is a $502 billion global alternative asset manager.

Barings names Brian Maute as head of US wealth distribution

Barings has appointed Brian Maute as Head of U.S. Wealth in a newly created role. Maute will lead the firm's US wealth distribution strategy across intermediary channels, including registered investment advisors, broker dealers, private banks and family offices. He will report to Ilena Coyle, Head of North America Insurance and Intermediary Distribution. Maute joins from DWS Group, where he spent over 15 years, most recently as Head of U.S. Wealth and chief executive officer of DWS Distributors. He will focus on expanding advisor and investor access to Barings' global investment platform across credit, real assets, capital solutions and emerging markets. Fidelis Partnership prices $2.04B refinancing, cuts debt cost to SOFR + 2.75%

The Fidelis Partnership (TFP) has priced a $2.04 billion refinancing, replacing its unitranche facility with a new senior secured Term Loan B facility. The transaction reduces TFP's cost of debt to SOFR + 2.75% from SOFR + 5%. The refinancing comes with TFP's inaugural public credit ratings: Ba3 (Stable) from Moody's, BB- (Positive) from Fitch, and B+ (Positive) from S&P. TFP's written premium reached $5.4 billion in 2025 through organic growth. The company now underwrites across more than 150 lines of business in 140 countries. Founder Richard Brindle said the refinancing marks an important milestone. The Term Loan B is expected to close in August 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

EACON raises up to $295M in Hong Kong IPO as world's first listed autonomous mining solutions provider

EACON Group, positioning itself as the world's first publicly listed autonomous mining solutions provider, has launched its Hong Kong IPO, offering 26.13 million H-shares to raise approximately HK$2.12 billion to HK$2.30 billion. Eleven institutional investors, including Zijin Mining, XCMG, Fidelity International and JP Morgan Asset Management, have committed capital at the regulatory cap of roughly 50% of the offering. EACON operates the world's largest fleet of autonomous mining vehicles, with 2,580 active trucks as of December 2025, commanding a 55.5% share of China's autonomous mining solutions market. The company has raised RMB2.06 billion across 11 funding rounds, with backing from CATL, NIO Capital and Eight Roads. According to Frost & Sullivan, the global autonomous mining solutions market is projected to grow from $1 billion in 2025 to $7.3 billion by 2030.
