Requirements
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant).
  • Experience in a telephonic, call-center, or high-volume outbound patient or customer outreach environment.
  • Ability to build trust and engage patients over the phone.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, care coordination, or other patient support roles.
  • Comfort and proficiency working within an electronic health record or electronic medical record, including documenting encounters, reviewing medication lists, and making authorized updates.
  • Ability to manage multiple patients, tasks, and follow-ups across an outreach queue with strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and commitment to protecting patient privacy and protected health information.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a primarily remote environment.
  • Home internet must support at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
  • Employees must work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member protected health information and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act information.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-volume outbound telephone outreach to patients to introduce the pharmacy service, establish rapport and trust, and guide patients through enrollment.
  • Deliver clear, standardized messaging over the phone using approved scripts and talking points to support consistent, informed enrollment decisions and manage patient questions and objections.
  • Obtain and document patient consent by phone and capture information needed to enroll patients.
  • Update the electronic health record based on patient decisions, including changing the preferred pharmacy, triggering electronic prescriptions to the pharmacy partner, and documenting consent or decline in the patient chart.
  • Manage outreach queues and follow-up cadences, complete multiple contact attempts per patient, and prioritize outreach based on urgency and targets.
  • Document call activity, outreach attempts, accepts and declines, and coordination activities in clinical and operational systems to support enrollment and success-rate tracking.
  • Meet call-center performance expectations, including call quality, productivity, average speed of answer, and enrollment or conversion targets.
  • Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality standards in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a healthcare call center or telephonic patient outreach or enrollment role.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication ability.
  • Experience with phone-based consent capture or enrollment workflows.
  • Background in care navigation, including connecting patients to community resources and addressing social determinants of health.
  • Familiarity with common chronic disease medications and prescription coverage terminology.
