About the Job

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Zero to four years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or engineering.
  • A strong interest in yield analysis and data-driven problem solving.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, statistical process control, or data analysis tools.
  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate artificial intelligence literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Account for high-bandwidth memory new product introduction builds across PWF, Assembly, and test through defect breakdown and PFA submission to understand failure modes.
  • Work closely with process integration to identify defects originating in their area and brainstorm continuous improvement projects.
  • Learn new product introduction processes, phase gates, and yield best practices.
  • Assist in maintaining yield dashboards and trackers; support process integration, process engineering, and RDA in identifying and transforming processing data to account for and break down yield losses.
  • Analyze and report on yield deviation issues and trigger action from process integration, process engineering, or RDA.
  • Support block run and partial conversion build yield analysis to detect early any impact on yield.
  • Work closely with the PCS team to identify statistical process control or fault detection and classification charts to include in the YLR dashboard for shift-left monitoring.
  • Brainstorm with staff from other departments to identify improvement opportunities to propose to process integration.
  • Use software tools such as Auto-diagnostics to find yield improvement opportunities.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.

About the Company

Micron Technology

Makes memory and storage chips for AI and PCs

Micron Technology designs and manufactures memory and storage chips, mainly DRAM and NAND flash, used in data centers, PCs, phones, cars and industrial equipment. It is one of only three companies that make HBM, the stacked high-bandwidth memory placed beside processors in AI servers, and it is the largest memory chipmaker based in the United States. Unlike chip designers that outsource production, Micron runs its own fabs and assembly sites in the United States and across Asia. It earns money by selling chips, memory modules and solid-state drives to cloud providers, device makers and distributors. Micron was founded in 1978 and is headquartered in Boise, Idaho.
