Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Physicians get an ownership route: Tanner's neurology posting offers second-year partnership with a $100 buy-in.
  • Retirement savings get support: Tanner's 6% maximum match requires a year of service and January or July enrollment.
  • Patient access spans payer types: Tanner accepts commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.

What critics are saying

  • Partner income is commission-based: Tanner's advertised neurologist role starts with salary and incentives before transitioning to partnership.
  • Insurance access has exceptions: Tanner excludes University of Utah's Preferred Plan and SelectHealth coverage for specified providers.
  • Urgent-care schedules extend beyond weekdays: Tanner runs services into evenings and weekends.

What makes Tanner Memorial Clinic unique

  • Doctors direct their practices: Tanner's practitioner owners individualize care without an overarching administrative approval team.
  • Prices are public: Tanner lists self-pay charges for office visits, laboratory tests and scans.
  • Research accompanies patient care: Tanner recruits for adult treatment studies and pediatric vaccine trials.
