Responsibilities
  • Investigate employee conduct exceptions, provide oversight and advice, and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Maintain a culture of employee integrity and compliance through appropriate training and execution of controls.
  • Develop and implement employee-conduct policies aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Implement surveillance and monitoring systems to track and report on employee behaviour.
  • Develop training programmes covering conduct expectations, ethical standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Complete tasks and exceptions relating to Breach Management and Reward, Global Registrations including the UK Senior Managers Regime, Conduct Rules, Mandatory Block Leave, and Personal Investments and Affiliations.
  • Develop and implement employee-conduct controls aligned with regulatory requirements, Barclays’ risk appetite, and industry best practices.
  • Provide advice and assistance across Barclays on employee-conduct matters.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance against objectives, and determine reward outcomes where leadership responsibilities apply.
  • Consult on complex issues and advise People Leaders on resolving escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop policies and procedures supporting the control and governance agenda.
  • Own risk management and strengthen controls related to the work performed.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from internal and external sources to solve problems effectively.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information to stakeholders.
  • Influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Assess sensitive conduct cases and escalation decisions, ensuring proportionality and consistency in behavioural assessments.
  • Interpret behavioural trends and recommend actions to reduce conduct risk and enhance conduct culture.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Policy Reinforcers, Employee Relations, and other stakeholders on applying conduct standards consistently.
  • Manage and influence a range of stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional Operational Leads on process and procedure documentation, optimisation, and data governance.
  • Support the transformation of Global Breach Management and the existing Conduct Rules framework.

Barclays appoints Wee Yee-Yeong to head private bank in Singapore and Asia

Barclays has appointed Wee Yee-Yeong as head of private bank for Singapore and Asia, effective later this year. He will oversee private banking operations in Singapore and lead regional strategy for international Asian clients. Yee-Yeong joins from Morgan Stanley, where he serves as chief executive and head of sales for Singapore wealth management. He brings over 20 years of wealth management experience, having held senior positions at Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch. He will replace Alexander Harrison, who served as interim head. The appointment follows Barclays' launch of its Singapore booking centre earlier this month, marking a key step in the bank's Asia Pacific growth strategy.

Form Energy closes $270M credit facility to scale iron-air battery production

Form Energy has closed a $270 million credit facility to support its energy storage technology development. The facility comprises a revolving credit facility and a tax credit advance facility linked to Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit. An accordion feature allows the facility to expand to $1 billion. Barclays served as sole structuring bank, with Citi, Jefferies, JPMorgan Chase, RBC Capital Markets, Societe Generale, Stifel, and Wells Fargo participating in the lending syndicate. The financing follows Form Energy's $750 million Series G funding round in August, bringing total equity raised to over $2 billion. Proceeds will fund manufacturing scale-up and working capital as the company produces iron-air battery systems at its Weirton, West Virginia facility.
