Requirements
  • Professional registration as Structural Engineer (Engineer of Record) in Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design and construction support with emphasis on AASHTO bridge or building structural design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural design tools
  • Experience as Engineer of Record
Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering design, analysis, condition assessments, and inspection services for bridge rehabilitation
  • Perform engineering design, analysis, condition assessments, and inspection services for tunnel rehabilitation
  • Perform engineering design, analysis, condition assessments, and inspection services for station and parking structure rehabilitation
  • Perform engineering design, analysis, condition assessments, and inspection services for shaft and retaining wall rehabilitation
  • Perform bridge load ratings and inspections
  • Perform parking garage and tunnel/station structural inspections
  • Review inspection reports and provide civil/structural design or review as assigned
  • Produce all CAD work for designs
  • Attend weekly meetings at WMATA Headquarters
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, memoranda, and action lists
  • Sign or seal engineering documents as required
  • Perform other project-related duties under the direction of the WMATA Task Manager
