Criteo appoints Guillaume Dupont as Country Head, Australia and New Zealand.

Criteo appoints Guillaume Dupont as Country Head, Australia and New Zealand. Criteo | Published 3 Sept 2026 Appointment follows strong ANZ growth, with retail media spend on Criteo's platform increasing more than fivefold over the past 12 months. Criteo, the global commerce intelligence platform, today announced the appointment of Guillaume Dupont as Country Head, Australia and New Zealand, as the company builds on strong local growth and enters its next phase of growth across retail media, AI-assisted commerce and cross-channel capabilities. Criteo continues to see strong momentum in ANZ, with total media spend on its platform growing 10% year on year in 2025 and delivering 32% growth year to date in 2026. Retail media has emerged as a key driver for this growth, with media spend on Criteo's retail media platform in Australia and New Zealand growing more than fivefold over the past 12 months. Dupont currently serves as the Head of Monetisation (Retailers & Marketplaces) at Criteo ANZ and has more than 15 years of experience across ecommerce and advertising technology. During his time at Criteo, he has held senior roles spanning retail media, agency partnerships, mid-market operations and enterprise accounts across Australia and New Zealand. In his new role, Dupont will lead Criteo's ANZ business, overseeing both the retail media and performance media businesses to effectively drive the company's broader cross-channel and full-funnel strategy. His focus will include helping brands and retailers connect commerce data, media activation and measurement to enable measurable outcomes across the shopper journey, as well as navigating emerging opportunities in AI-assisted commerce. Szi-Wei Lo, Executive Managing Director, Criteo APAC, said, "ANZ is an important growth market for Criteo, underpinned by strong momentum in retail media and an evolving commerce landscape. Guillaume has played an important role in building our business locally, and his appointment positions us well to build on that momentum as we lead Criteo ANZ into its next phase of growth." Criteo's retail media platform is now live with six Australian retailers across major industries in health, beauty, fashion, quick commerce, CPG, including Uber Eats, Chemist Warehouse, David Jones, JB Hi-Fi, Dan Murphy's and BWS. Dupont said strong retail media growth provides a solid foundation for Criteo's next phase in the region. "ANZ is an incredibly dynamic commerce market, and I'm excited to lead Criteo into its next phase of growth here. We've built significant momentum in retail media, working with some of Australia's leading retailers, and there's a real opportunity to build on that foundation as commerce becomes more AI-assisted and increasingly cross-channel. My focus will be on bringing our capabilities together to help brands and retailers connect with consumers across the journey and turn commerce intelligence into measurable growth." Driving Criteo's next phase of commerce growth Dupont's appointment comes as commerce is becoming increasingly AI-assisted and cross-channel, creating new ways for consumers to discover and evaluate products across LLMs, retailer environments, social platforms and the open web. While these emerging channels are creating additional entry points for product discovery, retailers and brands remain central to transactions, fulfilment and customer relationships. Criteo data shows AI-referred visits convert at 1.5 times the rate of other referral channels, while more than 70% of LLM-referred users land directly on product pages, demonstrating how AI is beginning to play in connecting high-intent consumers with retailers and creating new discovery moments. In ANZ, Criteo is also building momentum across emerging AI-driven environments. Criteo is positioning commerce intelligence as a critical layer in this evolving ecosystem, connecting discovery signals with real shopping behaviour to help brands and retailers deliver more accurate and relevant experiences and measure the outcomes that follow. As ChatGPT Ads' first adtech partner, Criteo brings advertiser demand into ChatGPT and is helping shape how commerce and advertising experiences evolve within AI-driven environments. Campaigns are currently live across APAC markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea and India, alongside the US, Canada and Europe. As Ben Zieschang, Senior Performance Manager, Petbarn, said, "ChatGPT is a new way to connect with pet parents. Working with Criteo on this pilot enables us to engage while they're actively researching what's best for their pet." Connecting commerce across the shopper journey Through its cross-channel, full-funnel approach, Criteo helps ANZ brands and retailers connect commerce data, media activation and measurement across the customer journey - from discovery through to purchase - while providing greater transparency into the media and experiences driving measurable outcomes. Mamaearth becomes first Indian brand to advertise on ChatGPT: Ghazal Alagh.

Mamaearth becomes first Indian brand to advertise on ChatGPT: Ghazal Alagh. Honasa Consumer has partnered with commerce media company Criteo to advertise its flagship beauty brand Mamaearth on ChatGPT, as shared by Alagh in a LinkedIn post. 02 Sep 2026 11:05 IST Honasa Consumer has partnered with commerce media company Criteo to advertise its beauty brand Mamaearth on ChatGPT, with co-founder Ghazal Alagh saying the company is the first Indian advertiser on the AI platform. The partnership follows OpenAI's expansion of ChatGPT advertising to India. Through its integration with OpenAI, Criteo allows advertisers to access ChatGPT's ad inventory as part of their digital advertising campaigns. Announcing the partnership, Alagh said the move was driven by changing consumer behaviour and the growing role of AI in brand discovery. "The way we discover brands is changing, and AI is becoming a big part of that change," she said. "At Honasa Consumer, we've always believed that building brands starts with understanding where the consumer is going, not just where they are today. That's why we're excited to be the 1st Indian company to advertise on ChatGPT, in partnership with Criteo, bringing Mamaearth into this new era of consumer discovery." She added that the partnership was less about adopting another advertising platform and more about getting an early understanding of how AI is changing the interaction between consumers and brands. "Our partnership with Criteo is an opportunity to be early to this shift - to learn, experiment and explore how technology can make brand discovery more relevant and genuinely useful for consumers," Alagh said. ChatGPT's advertising service is currently available to logged-in adult users on its Free and Go plans, while users on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans do not see ads. OpenAI has said that more than 50 brands were scheduled to advertise on the platform in India during its initial rollout, with WPP and Omnicom among its first agency partners in the market. OpenAI has also announced self-service access to ChatGPT Ads Manager in India from September 4, with daily budgets starting at Rs 725. The company has said that ads are clearly labelled and displayed separately from ChatGPT's responses, and do not influence the answers generated by the platform.

Mamaearth becomes first Indian brand to advertise on ChatGPT.

Mamaearth becomes first Indian brand to advertise on ChatGPT. Honasa partners Criteo as ChatGPT Ads expands in India with Rs 725 daily budgets 2 hours ago September 1, 2026 MUMBAI: Mamaearth is moving from search bars to chat bars. Honasa Consumer Ltd has partnered with commerce media company Criteo to advertise its flagship beauty brand on ChatGPT, making it the first Indian company to advertise on the AI platform, according to co-founder Ghazal Alagh. The move puts Mamaearth into ChatGPT's emerging advertising ecosystem just as product discovery begins stretching beyond conventional search engines and social feeds into conversations with AI assistants. Through its integration with OpenAI, Criteo allows advertisers to access ChatGPT advertising inventory as part of their wider digital campaigns. Announcing the partnership on LinkedIn, Alagh said the way consumers discover brands is changing as AI becomes a bigger part of the purchase journey. "For years, consumers have searched, scrolled, compared and reviewed before making a purchase. Today, more of those questions are moving into conversations with AI," she said, pointing to queries ranging from what consumers should use for their skin to which products might suit them. For Honasa, the experiment is less about adding another advertising channel and more about getting an early look at a new consumer habit. Alagh said the partnership with Criteo would allow the company to understand how technology could make brand discovery more relevant as conversational product research grows. The Mamaearth campaign arrives shortly after OpenAI expanded ChatGPT Ads to India. Ads are available to logged-in adult users on ChatGPT's Free and Go plans, while Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education users remain ad-free. OpenAI has said more than 50 brands were scheduled to begin advertising during the initial India rollout, with WPP and Omnicom serving as its first agency partners in the market. The company is also opening self-serve access to ChatGPT Ads Manager in India from September 4, with daily advertising budgets starting at Rs 725. Ads are clearly labelled and displayed separately from ChatGPT's responses. OpenAI has said advertising does not influence the answers generated by ChatGPT. Criteo has been involved in OpenAI's advertising push since March 2026, when it became the first advertising technology partner to integrate with the ChatGPT advertising pilot. The partnership subsequently expanded across more markets, and Criteo said more than 2,000 brands were advertising on ChatGPT through its technology as of June, with beauty among the leading categories. Early figures cited by Criteo suggest advertisers are seeing different behaviour from users in the conversational environment. The company said click-through rates were two to three times higher than comparable formats elsewhere, while more than 80 per cent of ad-driven ChatGPT traffic was coming from new customers. That makes the format particularly interesting for consumer brands. Instead of appearing only after someone types a conventional search query or scrolls through a feed, advertising can enter the picture while consumers are researching, comparing and considering products through a conversation. Honasa has described the Mamaearth campaign as an opportunity to "learn, experiment and explore" how AI can make brand discovery more useful and relevant. It has not disclosed the size of its advertising investment in the campaign. For Mamaearth, being early offers a chance to test whether conversational AI can become another meaningful discovery channel. For India's wider advertising market, the experiment will provide an early indication of whether the next fight for consumer attention moves from the search box into the chat box.
