Requirements
  • At least five years of construction field experience in a Quality Control, Superintendent, or Project Manager role.
  • Completion of the 40-hour EM 385-1-1 Construction Safety Hazard Awareness for Contractors course.
  • Current First Aid and CPR completion.
  • Proficiency with PC-based programs, including Microsoft, Primavera, and RMS.
  • Government contracting experience.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certificate.
  • Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices, including occupational safety and health regulations.
  • A thorough working knowledge of plans, specifications, project scope of work, and quality-control requirements.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with internal and external clients and coworkers.
Responsibilities
  • Review the company Quality Control Plan and Safety Plan and work with the corporate Safety Officer to make the Safety Plan project-specific.
  • Contact suppliers and subcontractors to obtain required submittals, and review and approve all submittals before submission to the Government.
  • Track submittals from transmittal to the Government through return to the Contractor to assure timely material approvals.
  • Organize and lead preparatory meetings for each definable feature of work.
  • Perform at least daily inspections of the work, require defective work to be removed, and obtain and maintain a project photo record.
  • Perform inventory and product inspections of all materials as they arrive on site.
  • Serve as liaison between the Contractor and Government QAR Representative.
  • Inspect projects during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to specifications and codes.
  • Review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
  • Inspect and monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes, and specifications.
Desired Qualifications
  • A four-year degree in an accredited construction-related curriculum, or equivalent work experience and education.
