Requirements
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (with substantial oncology experience). An exceptional fit may be considered even in the absence of an advanced degree
  • Deep understanding of oncology therapeutics (targeted therapy, immuno-oncology, antibody-drug conjugates, resistance, sequencing, tumor-type nuance)
  • Demonstrated strength interpreting clinical trial evidence and explaining clinical relevance (including biomarker subgroups)
  • Ability to reason from molecular data to therapy hypotheses while respecting evidence strength, contraindications, and real-world practice patterns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present confidently to clinicians and speak clearly with patients
  • Comfort working in a high-stakes, client-facing setting
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving evidence in fast-moving therapeutic areas
  • Commitment to our patient-focused mission
  • Interest in working for a small, early-stage startup

Valius Sciences develops precision oncology diagnostics that build detailed molecular profiles of tumors across DNA, RNA, and proteins to guide treatment choices. Its test combines multi-omic data and extensive gene expression analysis to identify actionable targets and cancer drivers that may be missed by standard tests. Rather than static PDFs, it offers a partnership model with an AI-queryable platform that stores all patient data and enables ongoing analysis and collaboration with Valius's scientific team. The goal is to help patients and clinicians prioritize effective therapies and plan for recurrence or progression through continuous, data-driven insights.

What believers are saying

  • Valius raised $13.5M in April 2026 to expand its multi-omic platform.
  • Founders combine expertise from Palantir, Bain, and Takeda for commercial and scientific depth.
  • The partnership model improves collaboration between patients and care teams for personalized strategies.

What critics are saying

  • Guardant Health's liquid biopsy displaces Valius's invasive tissue workflow with 35% market capture.
  • Myriad Genetics' ubleSeq offers FDA-cleared multi-omic analysis at 60% lower cost.
  • The 2025 seed funding lacks sufficient capital for three-year R&D, risking liquidity collapse.

What makes Valius Sciences unique

  • Valius maps cancer across DNA, RNA, and protein for maximalist diagnostic coverage.
  • The company offers an AI-queryable partnership model instead of static PDF reports.
  • Valius analyzes tumor behavior against thousands of samples to identify actionable targets.
