Position Summary: Senior Manager, Field Marketing
The Senior Manager, Field Marketing is a key contributor role within Tipalti’s Demand Generation (DG) team. This role reports to the Director, Field Marketing & Events. The role supports the strategy and execution of mid and large-scale third party tradeshows.
The Senior Manager, Field Marketing will work across departments with the greater Field demand marketing function to strategize and plan effective programs, as well as portfolio and partnership marketing, design, and sales teams.
The successful candidate will have the ability to build strong connections with key stakeholders, balance multiple competing priorities in a fast paced environment, think strategically, analytically and creatively, executive effectively, and manage a strong team. This individual will have a successful track record of strengthening valuable partnerships with sales, design, and product marketing teams to deliver projects with heavy cross-department participation.
Responsibilities:
- Strategize, plan and execute a mix of in-person and virtual field events to drive qualified leads and generate/nurture opportunities (focus on tier 1 ERP/accounting shows and partner events)
- Attend and manage field events, including implementation of a pre-event strategy and post-event follow up both internally and with prospects/customers
- Collaborate with our Field Marketing team to strategically plan and execute ancillary events to help drive ROI
- Identify insights and ideas that inform our field marketing strategy by becoming an expert on our industry, customers, prospects, and competition
- Formulate integrated and holistic demand-gen campaigns across channels like email marketing, digital & social, and other elements of the marketing mix
- Vet and qualify new events and conferences to scale the existing corporate events program while managing vendors, budget, and ROI reporting
- Manage a Partner Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator. Leading and empowering career development and growth
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Align with the Portfolio Marketing team to incorporate solution positioning, product launches, roadmaps, personas & industry messaging, sales enablement tools, etc into event plans
- Work in conjunction with the ABM Team (Account-Based Marketing) to market in field to our top/primary accounts and accelerate deals to close
- Work closely with Sales & Alliances teams (including senior leadership) to deepen our existing prospect and partner relationships
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in field marketing, event marketing or production
- 2-3 years in a management position with strong leadership and coaching skills
- Experience working at a B2B technology company, preferably SaaS or enterprise B2C
- Experience in scaling participation in third party tradeshow sponsorships
- Must be able to travel 40% of the time
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Detail oriented and the ability to adhere to tight deadlines
- Strategic, proactive, and outcome-oriented mindset in the planning and execution of a high-impact marketing plan
- Crisis management skills with a solution oriented mindset. Must be adaptable to change and feedback
- Ability to build strong partnerships and influence outcomes cross-functionally
- Excellent communication skills both internally and externally
- Technical skills in Salesforce mandatory (lead/contact/account/activity level know-how, dashboard and report building). Asana, Splash, 6Sense, and Marketo would be an asset.
Unique aspects of this role
- Travel:
- Moderate overnight travel anticipated (30-40%)
- Schedule:
- Normal workweek business hours within geographic location and time zone.
- May require flexibility to coordinate schedules across time zones with internal teams and external customers and contacts.
- Physical aspects:
- Position is located onsite/in-office three days per week.
- Prolonged sitting and/or standing at workstation.
- Prolonged computer and/or telephone usage.
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
- Visual acuity at close ranges.
- Physicality required for booth set-up (including carrying/moving up to 50 lbs).
