  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transient modeling/simulation of gas turbine engines
  • Proven expertise in development of gas turbine engine transient models in NPSS (preferred), Simulink, or other proprietary equivalent
  • Exposure to testing of gas turbine engines
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
Responsibilities
  • Own the performance modeling and acceptance criteria of gas turbine engines
  • Create and maintain engine performance decks for internal and external customers
  • Assist in research and development regarding design of aircraft engines, engine components, advanced combustion and fuel injection systems
  • Review test data for performance compliance and model fidelity
  • Lead projects to improve performance of gas turbine engines
  • Support test campaigns with up to 20% travel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with air-breathing propulsion systems
  • Experience in turbine engine distortion sensitivity analysis or testing (SAE ARP 1420, AIR 1419)
  • Experience conducting engine stability assessments or audits (SAE AIR 5656)
  • Professional experience using Siemens NX (Unigraphics) or other CAD packages
  • Experience in evaluating or analyzing component instability (Compressors, Combustors)
  • Experience conducting 1D sizing of turbomachinery components
  • Experience with aerodynamic rig testing techniques for turbomachinery components
  • Professional experience developing variable geometry schedules (Inlet Guide Vane, Variable Exhaust Nozzles, etc.)
  • Experience with Internal Combustion Engines
