Requirements
- Completion of LPN, Paramedic or EMT program and appropriate license
- Two (2) years of experience
- Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
- Demonstrated competency in Medical Terminology
- Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT) or Certified National Telemetry Technician (NTA) within 6 months of employment
- Five (5) years of experience as a monitor technician
- Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
- Demonstrated competency in Medical Terminology
- Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT)
Responsibilities
- Provides oversight of the operations of the Central Monitoring Unit to include resolution of concerns related to human resources, telemetry capacity, scheduling issues, and equipment functionality.
- Works closely and serves as a communication liaison with all departments that provide telemetry monitoring.
- Responsible for the departmental processes that support accurate record keeping, observation of telemetry monitors, and prompt identification and escalation of cardiac rhythm changes to appropriate nursing personnel.
- May perform the duties of a Monitor Technician as needed.
- In the absence of the manager, may assume 24-hour responsibility for the department.
Desired Qualifications
- Associates Degree in healthcare related field of study
- 1 year supervisory experience
- Graduate from an accredited CVT program
- National certification in specialty area
