Requirements
  • Completion of LPN, Paramedic or EMT program and appropriate license
  • Two (2) years of experience
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
  • Demonstrated competency in Medical Terminology
  • Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation
  • Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT) or Certified National Telemetry Technician (NTA) within 6 months of employment
  • Five (5) years of experience as a monitor technician
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
  • Demonstrated competency in Medical Terminology
  • Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation
  • Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT)
Responsibilities
  • Provides oversight of the operations of the Central Monitoring Unit to include resolution of concerns related to human resources, telemetry capacity, scheduling issues, and equipment functionality.
  • Works closely and serves as a communication liaison with all departments that provide telemetry monitoring.
  • Responsible for the departmental processes that support accurate record keeping, observation of telemetry monitors, and prompt identification and escalation of cardiac rhythm changes to appropriate nursing personnel.
  • May perform the duties of a Monitor Technician as needed.
  • In the absence of the manager, may assume 24-hour responsibility for the department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in healthcare related field of study
  • 1 year supervisory experience
  • Graduate from an accredited CVT program
  • National certification in specialty area
