Requirements
  • JD Degree from an ABA accredited law school; Member of a state bar
  • 3-5 years of experience actively litigating matters and managing intensive eDiscovery projects, including initial case assessment, strategy development, responding to discovery, overseeing all aspects of eDiscovery, mediation, arbitration, and court trials. Less years of experience will be considered for the right, enthusiastic candidate with stellar eDiscovery intellect
  • Experience in conducting company witness interviews for case-specific document collections
  • Ability to exercise business and legal judgment with strong problem-solving, research, and project management skills and ability to work closely with business (engineers and other non-lawyers)
  • Knowledge of and experience with top document review platforms such as Relativity, Logikcull, etc., such as running complex Boolean searches, crafting case-specific coding panels, and creating detailed saved searches
  • Track record of working efficiently with a client-service focus in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Pleasant attitude, ability to work well with others including non-lawyers, ability to prioritize your work to meet deadlines and get work done with minimal supervision
Responsibilities
  • Represent Tesla in all aspects of product liability-related litigation matters, particularly relating to discovery
  • Prepare responses to Discovery based on thorough understanding of the Tesla’s vehicle products and litigation strategy; draft Protective Orders and all front-end discovery-related stipulations
  • Lead document collection efforts to identify and select critical documents and data for purposes of discovery compliance, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
  • Identify and select documents critical to the defense of Tesla’s vehicle products, and ability to work with the Product Liability team to integrate such documents into the case analysis and the overall litigation strategy
  • Oversee all aspects of document review including consulting on eDiscovery meet and confers to direct and provide guidance on processes regarding negotiating search terms, metadata, use and parameters for predictive coding, application of carefully curated coding panels on voluminous document collections, etc.
  • Keep abreast of case law, federal, state and local rules, and other statutory developments impacting discovery, ESI, etc.
  • Develop and implement best practices to maximize quality, efficiency and value of eDiscovery Team
