Requirements
  • British Columbia Journeyman Millwright Certification or Red Seal Journeyman certification.
  • Five to seven years of experience in the oil and gas industry, such as liquefied natural gas plants or refining and upgrading operations.
  • Knowledge of various rigging methods and techniques for lifting and moving heavy materials safely.
  • Ability to calculate loads and determine the appropriate rigging equipment and techniques for each task.
  • Experience with piping troubleshooting and resolving piping system leaks.
  • Ability to support planned and unplanned maintenance and turnarounds.
  • Ability to work weekends and extended hours as required.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Support the development of maintenance procedures before plant start-up.
  • Participate in plant walkdowns covering rotating equipment scope.
  • During plant commissioning, verify installation and witness dynamic runs of rotating equipment.
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
  • Troubleshoot rotating assets, compressors, pumps, fans, and hydraulic systems.
  • Assist pipefitters with blinding and pipe strain.
  • Repair valves, pumps, fans, and compressors.
  • Perform major overhauls of centrifugal compressors.
  • Replace dry gas seals.
  • Conduct equipment alignments.
  • Work closely with other trades to maximize equipment availability and reliability.
  • Install, inspect, and repair mechanical and hydraulic components.
  • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, fin fans, loading arms, hydraulics, and compressors.
  • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance, including lubrication, greasing, and vibration collection.
  • Calculate loads and determine the appropriate rigging equipment and techniques for each task.
  • Comply fully with company health, safety, security, and environmental policies and guidelines.
  • Champion health, safety, security, and environmental practices as a member of the LNG maintenance team.
  • Intervene promptly to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and the plant.
  • Use standard hand signals and communication protocols when working with cranes and other lifting equipment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Dual ticket as a Millwright/Pipefitter or Millwright/Welder.
  • Turbo machinery experience.
  • Level 1 or 2 vibration certification.
  • Master certification in rigging.
  • Experience working with large multidisciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and change priorities within tight time frames.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes.
