Your day to day

• Actively cleans all kitchen dishes, utensils, equipment, and storage areas to maintain a clean and organized 
environment.
• Accepts and checks deliveries, ensuring accurate storage of goods.
• Maintains storage areas to be clean, neat, and free from health and safety hazards, while also providing regular 
assistance for deep cleaning projects.
• Handles and disposes of kitchen waste efficiently and in accordance with safety procedures.
• Ensures a hygienic kitchen is maintained at all times, adhering to food safety protocols.
• Assists chefs with cutting, chopping, and preparing food in a clean and hygienic environment, performing basic 
cooking and food preparation tasks.
• May be required to assist in other departments, based on operational needs.
• Works as part of a team, communicating with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent 
quality and service.
• Reports workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses to the supervisor promptly.
• Demonstrates True Hospitality behaviors by making guests smile and building genuine connections.
• Participates in department/hotel training sessions such as brand standards, kitchen food safety and hygiene, 
Housekeeping IHG 5S Way of Cleaning Standards, Health & Safety, and other cross-department training as 
required.
• Understands and works towards the Holiday Inn brand standards to deliver a great guest experience.
• Complies with IHG’s Code of Conduct, Crisis Management, HACCP & WH&S policies and procedures and 
promotes a greener hotel environment.
• Wears and maintains Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required to control workplace hazards, as 
directed or in safety procedures.
• Adheres to material safety data sheet requirements for all products used in the kitchen.
• Uses safety, emergency equipment, plant materials, tools, and substances as required by safety procedures.
• Works in smaller kitchen settings, such as bars and restaurants, performing basic food preparation and cleaning 
tasks.
• Cleans prep stations and ensures all kitchen areas are ready for daily operations.
• Manages inventory, keeping track of stock levels and assisting with orders.
• Provides support to chefs, line cooks, and service staff during peak hours and in daily operations.
