Operation Theater Technician

Position
We seek a skilled and dedicated Operation Theater Technician to join our team. As an OT Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting surgical teams during cardiac procedures, ensuring that the operating theater is prepared and maintained to the highest standards of sterility and safety. Your contributions will directly impact the success of surgeries and the well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of the Operating Theater
  • Set up the operating theater with the necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies before surgeries.
  • Ensure that all surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized and in optimal working condition.
  • Assist in positioning and draping patients for surgery, following strict aseptic techniques.
• Assistance During Surgeries
  • Provide direct support to surgeons and nurses during cardiac procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
  • Monitor and manage surgical equipment during operations, ensuring smooth and efficient procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment in the operating theater throughout the surgery.
• Post-Operative Duties
  • Assist in cleaning and disinfecting the operating theater after each surgery.
  • Sterilize instruments and prepare them for the next procedure.
  • Document and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate department.
• Collaboration and Coordination
  • Work closely with the surgical team, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and effective teamwork.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely availability of required supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• Anaesthesia Technician Graduate / Diploma from a recognized university.
• Specialized training or experience in cardiac surgery is an advantage.
