What believers are saying

  • Future assignments have contracted backing: BESIX's May 2026 results showed a EUR 6.7 billion year-end order book.
  • Employees have formal learning routes: BESIX targets five annual training days and lists 150-plus courses alongside its technical academies.
  • Brussels work gains another project: BESIX's September 2026 The Fifty Six redevelopment contract covers 18,000 square metres, due spring 2028.

What critics are saying

  • Site safety remains critical: BESIX reported three 2025 fatalities in May 2026, two employees and one subcontractor.
  • Property development slowed: a May 2026 report linked BESIX RED's lower 2025 turnover to cost inflation and lengthy permits.
  • Relocation has lasted years: one BESIX plant manager described 17 years with the group abroad.

What makes BESIX unique

  • Design stays close to construction: BESIX keeps soil engineering, concrete technology and digital construction modelling in-house.
  • Specialist businesses broaden project scope: BESIX combines Franki foundations, Socogetra roads and Unitec utilities with regional contractors.
